Ooh, yes. Bloodborne. :) My priorities are messed up right now because I still haven't gotten a PS4, so still haven't played DA: Inquisition or Shadow of Mordor. :/ I would have gotten a PS4 long ago but I keep needing to use my money for things like fixing my car and going to expensive doctors. But soon... I will have one soon... In the meantime, what's your Steam username? We should be friends on there. :) I'm ringwraith10 everywhere, btw.

Hey, so I thought I would mention that they have "remade" Hyperdimension Neptunia... sort of. The remake is called "Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1" (yeah), and it's on Vita and Steam(!). It's kind of a reimagining of the original game, with much prettier dungeons and an extreme improvement to the battle system (basically they totally got rid of the original quirky battle system and gave it a more normal, reasonable one). I would definitely recommend this new version of the game to you -- I'm only about 3 hours into it so far but I love it so much more than the original! See, I wanted to like the series because of its fourth wall breaking, referential and otherwise quirky humor (as is expected from any game from NIS or their partners), but I hated the battle system in the original game so much I had trouble getting into the rest of the series. Not a problem now. ;)

There's some that are in game and there's some that are stand alone games. I haven't touched the stand alone ones yet. But the in game adventures: one adds a new party member and his story, another adds a a dungeon and an explanation as to why The Wardens disappeared from the area, and another adds a return mission to Ostagar.

I'm replaying Origins right now - my first time with the DLC - and really digging the experience all over again.

Booting her was a route the team working on the game took early on? I thought it was odd that I could kick her from the team -- even though she and I were friends. I didn't look into it, but that's interesting. By chance, have you played Dragon Age 2? Thoughts on it? I'm replaying it right now - my first play through since it was release. The decision to set an entire game in one city, the reuse of dungeon designs, and some odd out-of-left-field character/story paths really hold the game back -- but that's well covered ground.

There's some interesting stuff said between Solas and Cole, too. Cole telling Solas that he was not wrong for freeing (trying to?) his people and Solas thanking him for trying to set his mind at ease. Solas interacting with any modern elf is pretty interesting. My favorite interaction is the one Solas has with Abelas. "Elvhen such as you?" Shit. I should've seen in coming.

Ah. I let Morrigan drink from the well. I really enjoyed the talk between her and Solas in The Temple, though. Such a brilliant twist with Solas. Here you're thinking this is the stock mage companion you get at the beginning on an RPG. Then you get the layers to him. Then...Bam.

Definitely try to get your hands on their older stuff. Baldur's Gate I, II, and Neverwinter Nights are genre defining stuff. Knights of the Old Republic remains one of my all-time favorite games. And Jade Empire is nothing to shake a stick at -- some real good character stuff in there though it's a bit too action-y for me.

I topped out at 87 hours -- there's a handful of side quests I didn't do (never did get around to doing that horse race in The Hinterlands) and - like yourself - didn't get around to finding all the mosaic pieces. The exploration is top notch. I felt tied to each and every area as if I *just* had to make sure everything was tied up and I left the world in a better place. And the exploration of what divinity is... Is something I've never seen in a game before. A fantastic game. Looking forward to some substantial DLC (a rarity these days) or an expansion pack.

Heh. Everyone is coming out of the woodwork. Is there an OT reunion or something coming up? So, Dragon Age: Inquisition. Sprawling, thoughtful, and moving, right?

Ah, I don't care that most people think Disgaea is NIS's best -- Rhapsody will always be miles above Disgaea in my eyes. But I am partial to musicals -- and Rhapsody is the best musical video game I've ever experienced (well, really the only one that's truly a musical). If you play it, though, make sure you play the PS1 version -- the DS version is interesting, but so much was removed from that version to conserve space -- including the wonderful English versions of all of the songs. :( Hyperdimension Neptunia is a funny game, of course, but I think the problem I had with the battle system was that there was a severe lack of control over what the party members did. For instance, healing was dependent on a percentage that you set that determined how likely a character was to randomly heal in battle. I guess they wanted to be different, but it was too hard for me. I do want to try starting over, though, now that I know a bit more about how the system works. I think I got myself stuck.

Thank you, too! Yes, I love Nippon Ichi and have been a fan since the Playstation One era. The game that got me interested in them was "Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure," which I still count among my top five favorite games of all time. I'm also a fan of most J-RPGs in general (though I like a lot of western ones, too!), and also try to follow NISA's sister companies like GUST, Idea Factory, etc. Right now I've been trying to be into the Hyperdimension Neptunia games... I love the premise, but I hate the battle system. :/ I have been playing the "spin-off" of that series on PS Vita called "Hyperdimension Neptunia: PP," which is more of a rhythm game/visual novel type of thing. Since it doesn't have the crummy battle system I'm enjoying it a bit more. I do intend to try to go back to the regular series and just deal with the battle parts because I like the characters and story.

You have so many awesome video game pics on your page I don't even know which ones to comment on. How about... Eternal Darkness, Disgaea, and Phantom Brave...? Really, looks like you're into awesome, unusual, story-driven games. If you want to discuss games and/or share recommendations, hit me up! :)

I actually watched it with a friend and after we had watched it, I told her I'd give it a 6/10. I was definitely left disappointed, especially after I was so excited to watch it. Hey, do you like Breaking Bad? Sorry if I sound like every BB fangirl but it is truly one of the greatest TV series I have ever seen. I was a bit late to the party, but hey, at least I have Netflix to quench my thirst.

I totally agree with you opinion there, sir. I was pretty perplexed with the magical realism elements, too. Honestly, our opinions are pretty much exactly the same, concerning the movie. Overall, how would you rate it?

I definitely agree with what you said. It IS beautifully shot and wonderfully acted but to tell you the truth, I got a bit bored half way through. I read the plot and thought "wow, this'll be amazing" but it didn't quite live up to expectations. It is original, and as I said, beautifully shot... it just hasn't got the captivating results that I had hoped for. You know?

David Lynch is a favourite of mine too. His movies captivate, frighten and fascinate me. Btw, what movie is the picture of Ron Perlman (I think it's him) carrying a child from?

I adore the movie pictures on the right hand side, sir. I particularly like the "Blue Velvet" one, that happens to be one of my favourite movies. David Lynch is a genius.
