In no way is it selfish my friend. I understand your wanting to change the world and make it a better place, however in the direction that humanity is moving it is somewhat impossible unless there is some sort of humanistic revolution and unfortunately there aren't enough free thinkers such as you and I to make that happen. The blue-bloods (Ruling class, politicians and etc) are in control and are unwilling to give it back to the people. Creating your reality doesn't mean you ignore whats going on around by any means. That would be ignorant, however ignorance is bliss haha. In my opinion creation of a personal reality helps you grow and develop as a person according to your outlook on life and etc, such personal development can help you to help others indirectly making the world a better place. I definitely understand what you mean, ignorance is truly bliss. However, realizing that life is but a game and we the actors, should liberate the individual. I understand that there is no meaning to life, that my existence is pure coincidence and that the cosmos are the reason for this. Me knowing this allows me to deviate societal norms and create my own reality. A reality of my own rules and standards, a realm where my dreams have come into existence. However I still am not completely through with creating this reality, I have a ways to go, but it is a work in progress just like enlightenment. Our earth has been plagued for centuries, the ruling class (Politicians and etc) have created their own reality and are herding us for their profit.
