You know, I was never even sure it was a legit album... My friend transfered a bunch of his music into my ipod once and this was some of it. It's really really good but I don't even know if the track names are correct or if it's even david lang and kevin shields... Oh, and there is a track named Kevin Shields n2 I can offer 2 things: There's a long thread about it with links over here: http://www.mybloodyvalentine.net/smf/index.php?topic=412.225 if that doesn't work out, I can upload it for you. Let me know!

You don't have to connect it to your facebook. that's just optional. I only really use spotify at work, or when I want to listen to something i've never heard before, and don't feel like looking too hard.

Just got around to hearing Blanck Mass, this stuff is awesome! You didn't make it sound very appealing with the Fuck Buttons comparison, I listened to those guys way too much and saw them play too many times.

I finally the tracked down some info on where to buy the Möthersky album. I could have sworn he had a bandcamp page as well but I guess not. http://montagebyvergez.bigcartel.com/

I'll get to the rest of your recommendations soon enough but right now, I cannot stop listening to the Swans Are Dead. Save for the Jarboe songs, it's absolutele perfection. Can't wait for the Music Hall show.

Haha, I've got recommendations but there's no guarantee that they'll be decent. As far as recent stuff goes, I can't get enough of John Maus, even though I'm entirely fed up with the "lo-fi" sound. Möthersky and the Soft Moon have not been off my stereo for more than a day at a time. White Ring and Salem are also a nice change to appreciate in new music. Sun City Girls, Douglas P, New Buildings, Ben Frost and Jefre Cantu Ledesma have been on heavy rotation. Considering your charts, definitely check out Jefre Cantu-Ledesma, Möthersky and The Soft Moon. Got any for me?

I already got a ticket for the Bowery Ballroom show... And I'm a Bk-phobe, so I'll just have to deal with inferior acoustics at BB. Although after Mono, it's pretty clear that you can't always blame the venue--their sound was great. I saw Swans live twice, btw, back in the mid-to late nineties. Major hearing damage :) I also enjoyed how abusive MG was to the audience. (Well, both back then and later as Angels of Light.)

Yeah this will be my second time seeing them actually, I saw them in GA last year when they played with Vic Chesnutt and both were extremely amazing, Efrim and all his sarcastic commentary really kept the crowd close. I wonder how Anton and Efrim would interact, now that would be a show. Yeah depending on my cash situation me and my friend might see bjm in Kentucky in July, that's the closet they come!

Yea I just watched the video for "The Motion Makes Me Last" I was defiantly surprised by the vocals. The moment was similar to rubbing your eyes to make sure what you are seeing is real; but I know what you mean, it defiantly doesn't dig as deep into your soul as his other stuff. He is the musician so I can respect anything he makes.

I didn't even know it was out yet, I knew it was sometime this year, but now I must find it. Let the search begin!

Oh I absolutely adore the vocals. Hes pretty much prefected the art of his specific sound, might as well try something different otherwise youll never progress as an artist. But I can see why some people wouldnt like it. To each his own my friend.

Aaw, thanks! I think Starethrough is my favorite of Seefeel's stuff. The title track has a nice bass undertone so it's less dainty than Quique, which I like. Hmm, been meaning to check out Deerhunter. Where to start? (My problem is that I always confuse it with Deer Tick and that other Deer band. I should just remember it as that one band with the Marfan Syndrome guy.)

It was good, completely different from the Bowery show; not nearly as loud and a lot shorter- unfortuntely. The Bowery show was excellent, you could just see the energy between the two dudes, they were so into it. I didn't expect this one to be better but the venue was great, really gritty, more party conducive which may be why they didn't play very long... It was fun, totally worth the not-so-bad trek and the $12.
