Well since they both use the grunting style or whatever yes I think I can compare them. But anyway comparisons are not of much use when trying to express an opinion. I was just trying to say that I'm not the kind of person who hates a band because the singer doesn't "sing". Though it's true I find it hard to like black metal vocals. And I disagree with your analysis of Alcest's vocals as I hear no emotions in them, but again opinions are hard to discuss.

It's not that I don't like this type of vocals... Some people are great at using them, like Draconian's singer, but I'll just say Alcest's isn't gifted when it comes to this.

I think Alcest's music is great but the screams ruin it all. They should've used only clean vocals or no vocals at all, IMO. I do know Agalloch, though I wasn't amazed the first time I listened to them, so I did not give them much of a chance. I'll listen to them again another time.

Why does it matter what I think? I'm sorry if you don't agree, the second half just contains a superior amount of songs I like compared to the first one. I didn't mean to say the first half is bad. In fact, my favourite song of the album is "Zephyr" and I agree that "Like Ice" is good too... And quite frankly I don't mind how "meticulously crafted" a song is, if I don't like it, I don't like it. You have the right to think every song on the album is a masterpiece, I respect your opinion, I simply don't share it.

You see that I was never a huge fan of them? I forgot that they're one of my most listened to bands ever, that I own all of their albums, that may parents listened to them lots while I was growing up, that several of my friends are massive fans and that I've seen them 8 or so times. Waaaaaaait...

Sorry for the late reply , and yes all his albums are amazing. I just think the 90s were not very nice to him , and people hold Thriller to such a high degree that anything else he did wasn't as important. I honestly loved Invincible so much that I imported different versions of it . HIStory was an amazing Greatest hits and new song set. Both are so impressive and it's a shame that Thriller casts a shadow on them , but Thriller does deserve respect on many levels. I think that in the coming years more people will know about HIStory and Invincible ( I don't think alot of people knew about them to an extent , even MJ said they were not advertised properly ) and how much they are a comparable part of his musical catalouge. For me though , I have yet to say "This MJ album sucked" that's rare , because even some of my favorite artists have the odd album here and there that I don't particualrly care for.

Yes, I managed to catch MJ 4 times on the HIStory tour, so I consider myself lucky to have witness him on stage. The Bad tour is absolutely amazing - I love everything about it. The Dangerous and HIStory tours are awesome as well. Nice picture of Kylie...

Honestly, no - I still cannot believe. In fact sometimes I have to remind myself that he is really dead. It doesn't make any sense to me at all. I was going to see him perform and now he is dead. It is odd thinking that 3 weeks ago he was alive and well. How are you doing? I'm doing allright - but it is still a shock to me......
