this tag IS wrong. its same with metalcore and other core tags - some metalcore is more metal and some is more hardcore. -> some sludge bands are more doom metal and some are more into hardcore. lets keep it sludge

This tag seems kind of... made up. When I listen to Cancer Bats though I always think of them as "Sludgecore" as a pun.

I don't think the term is redundant. In contemporary usage "-core" postfix has nothing to do with actual "hardcore punk" music. It's used for the bands which emphasize on "Rhythm", "Groove" and "Slam". "-core" bands tend to use more complex rhythm and breakdown structures while others rely on melody, or just plain chaos and cacophony. Instead of sludgecore, you are free to say "Groovy Sludge" if you wish..

The term "sludgecore" is old and it was coined when Black Flag released "My War"; moreover, I still have crowbar''s first editions with stickers saying "sludgecore".
