My gosh, new album may be their most solid album I heard. There's no filler song on it, each song has its own unique soul. I loved XMTP already, but this album seems to set new level for their music. I only wish it was more industrialy than futurepop, but oh boi, is this futurepop well executed.

Brilliant band. My most favourite german Electro-Industrial band. Each album are special for me, but the greatest for me is "The Killing Had Begun", "Meshwork" & "The House Of Rain". And so what, greetings from St.Petersburg, Russia, folks! C:

Yeah, I never got into Santa Hates You, they do seem like a joke and their name bothers me for some reason. I will stick to the amazing Project Pitchfork ^^

The new album is indeed phenomenal! I must agree with DJ_Tyrant the production on this album is great as with all their albums.

Obviously this is your favorite band and we all have different tastes. For me it was like listening to easy listening electronic music. I need more "oomph" in my music. I will only keep one song from this abum, The side of the wrong was an OK song.

@tripodthunder - You. are. insane. This album is phenomenal and an even greater advancement in the "crossover" sound from the previous album. The pacing of the album is great. The production of this album separates XMTP from every other act in "mainstream" post-industrial, i.e. appealing to the widest audiences and not fringe subgenres like dark ambient or IDM. I would actually rate one, maybe two acts in those genres as slightly better mixed & mastered than this, but certainly not more. If anyone is expecting "4 on the floor" clubstompers from every track, then of course you're going to be disappointed, and really should look at more pedestrian acts. However, if you want a mature, nuanced sound, rich & deep layered songs, and THE crispest production values this album is for you.

Add this album to the totally disappointed list of new releases for 2012. What a crap year for music, I hope Santa Hates You can make up for this. Last album was way better!

[album artist=x-marks the pedwalk]Inner Zone Journey[/album] is indeed a masterpiece. It is quite different from the over-compressed hyper-aggressive tbm/aggrotech/modern ebm sound that most modern industrial fans are accustomed to. However, repeated listenings unveil a wealth of intricately layered sounds for those willing to explore this unique style. XMTP are, and always have been, true pioneers. It is criminal that there are so few listeners to this hugely influential act. TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT X-MARKS THE PEDWALK!

I wish I hadn't sold all my CDs (Human Desolation, Drawback, Abattoir and 2 more I didn't remember)10 years ago. The 25€ I got for them wasn't worth it. :/

@fastmat - sorry, my fault! JK. I haven't listened to 'Abattoir' as much recently since I played it so much back in the day. You're right it is a fantastic song though. What stuns me is that an act that is so prolific and influential in the scene has less than 19,000 listeners?! I suppose this is due to so much of the material being unavailable for so long. Now that [label]Infacted Recordings[/label] has re-issued the entire catalog as a digital download hopefully this will change.

Now that I've had a chance to listen to it at length I quite like the latest album, [album artist=x-marks the pedwalk]Inner Zone Journey[/album], even if it is quite different than the last three releases. Going back and listening to the entire XMTP catalog and side-projects ([artist]Ringtailed Snorter[/artist], [artist]U-Tek[/artist], [artist]PAX[/artist], [artist]Lighthouse[/artist], [artist]Hyperdex-1-Sect[/artist]) I can appreciate the evolution of André's sound and influences from other facets of electronic music. It seems to me that with the clean vocals (plus Estefania's vocals) and more sedate (almost trance) sounds the album bears more similarity to Hyperdex-1-Sect rather than a continuation of the Facer/Maximum Pace/Monomaniac sound. For fans of the latest album I encourage you to seek out [album artist=Hyperdex-1-Sect]Metachrome[/album] from Hyperdex-1-Sect, especially the 21st Circuitry label version with remixes by [artist]Empirion[/artist] and [artist]Download[/artist].

Dreadful_YGG: I agree half of the album is downright awesome, there are a few crap songs but for the most part a great album. Winter Comes Tomorrow is fantastic!

I am absolutely enamored with the new album. Its beyond words really. Something about the relentless drive of the songs and the enveloping tones that just hold you tight and thrash your body and mind in a tribal pulsating beat.

thanks for the video link ... as i expected a continuation of the facer-phase: i think it's called euro-disco ... it's ok, but i also prefer their earlier phase ... but i think, i will buy the new stuff anyway ...
