The Album that for me into Arch Enemy. Arch Enemy was popular in Japan. With Angela Gossow.

legit no melodeath anywhere on this record, I'm so confused by the melodic death metal tags

I guess "melodic thrash" that gets randomly deathy or groove metally, that's what I hear on the majority of their music, I never understood why they are care considered melodeath unless they used to be pre-Angela or something

Timeless masterpiece [2] The album that opened the door of death metal for me, the Amott brothers and Angela are fuckin awesome, the melodies are so brutal and beautiful at the same time. Arch Enemy's magnum opus and one of the best metal albums of the 2000's I would say

I totally agree with the production. Most Arch Enemy albums have killer production. However, this one in particular has some of the raddest guitar tone ever (Krank amp, plus how Sneap dials in the mix), drum sound, bass tone, balance of tight focused low end, sweet treble. Tonally, this is perfection.

I'm not sure if it's just nostalgia making me like this album, but it is certainly one of my favorites when it comes to production. It has just the right balance of clarity and grit, and those lead guitar tones!
