Celebrating the combined centenary of Music Director Marios Papadopoulos’s 60th Birthday and Artist in Residence Maxim Vengerov’s 40th Birthday, this concert will showcase both performing as conductors and as soloists as they alternate the podium for the spotlight. With Tchaikovsky’s technically fiendish Concerto, full of musical fireworks befitting such a significant occasion, the evening closes with Brahms’s grand and almost symphonic Piano Concerto.
