Hello! Yes, I am enjoying Zola's new album. I think it's one of those albums that gets better with a few listens, it did for me. I'm glad it's growing on you, I've listened to it a number of times now as I'm really absorbing the different sound and taking it in lyrically at the moment. Overall I'm enjoying the connection I currently have with it. I hadn't heard the PJ cover of Red Right Hand until you mentioned it, I've not been listening to her music as much as I've been exploring other artists, but I listened to it and liked what she did with it as usual. I am really looking forward to giving iamamiwhoami's new album a full listen now!

You got good tickets considering it was a nightmare to get them! Plus, I believe the first couple of rows are where the orchestra will be so it's not so bad. I got row J for the first show and row E for the second night. I'm super excited. I'm going to request either New Age, Strange, Suede or Lust.

It totally was! I had the same reaction when I first heard it - the world kind of stopped for a while. It's been a while since a track had that effect on me, and I can probably count on my fingers the number I've ever heard that do. Looking forward to the gig in November - it was supposed to be in October, but got pushed back 6 weeks for some reason. Hope you can catch them on their festival tour "down south"! :-)

You are not the only one who found it hard to follow though having said that I loved every second of it. I am very jealous that you got to meet Karen and Nick..that truly is amazing, I'm a huge fan of both of them. Bit of a gig lull now for me which is OK but it all gets exciting again next month.

Well, I’m equally enthused. I’m always delighted when I come across things I have yet to discover / read about Cave. The tribute song, for example—I enjoyed that very much. My younger sister was the one who introduced me to the Bad Seeds’ music, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I’m looking forward to hearing their upcoming album but I’m a little disappointed that Mick Harvey didn’t contribute on this release. Either way, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for another Bad Seeds tour in the States. I’d love to be able to say that I saw them live—what a wonderful memory that would be!

I felt compelled to leave you a 'shout' a few weeks back after I read a post that you had written on Nick Cave's artist page—linking to a blogspot article titled “Saint Nick”—but I suppose I never got around to it, or I just couldn’t find the right words to express my mutual enthusiasm for Nick Cave’s music / body of work at the time. Coincidentally, you popped up on my ‘Neighbours’ chart. Either way, I just wanted to throw a “thanks” your way for sharing that link. I’m a huge fan of Nick Cave and I really enjoyed reading that article. Nice library, by the way.
