thanks for answering!! i feel like i haven't listened to it enough to create a Strong opinion on it yet, but i'm with you about RDF. it didn't feel very EE to me (whatever that means. i still like bad friday tho). and you're SO RIGHT about mountainhead, sonically it's SO MUCH MORE interesting. god i love the drumming they did here. it's too early for me to choose favourites, but i keep going back to buddy, come over. something about it scratches that itch in my brain Just Right. AND the intro to wild guess. ugh sooo gooood. i have to sit with the album more, i keep listening to it when my attention Has to be somewhere else, so i'm not very into (as in understanding) the lyrical part. i'll probably have more to say about it next month haha thanks again for answering! honestly, while listening to it the first time i remembered talking to you in passing about RDF, so i wondered how you felt about this one.

RDF (in comparison with all other records) didn't have enough melody I think. with wonderful exceptions of course, like jenniffer (best song on RDF imo), leviathan, born under a meteor, and software greatman (which basically is an ambient-ish tune). but yeah, i feel mountainhead is stronger on every level. agree with you on the lyrical part. i've only read a few lyrics, mostly city song and the witness.

it could very well be city lights tbh but city song has some appeal...

it has a few great songs (nightclub and bunker come to mind) but idk it felt like a less interesting retread of rats to me. also it has a few pretty weak songs which I can't say about rats or applause

also I checked out entertainment and I like it, but not as much as fever. might grow on me, idk
