Sup man. I've been steering away from metal recently and dabbling in some progressive rock and...wait for it...c-pop (amazing I know!!!). I find c-pop to be much more enjoyable than western pop and j-pop because it has "class" -- as in pretty acoustic guitars, tasteful electric guitar solos, and even a little orchestration. This is totally not because c-pop invokes all the nostalgia. Totally not. Anyways... I listened to 王菲's '98 album 唱游 and absolutely loved it. The music is catchy, beautiful, and a little trippy. And it sports the song 红豆, a song which your mom and my mom and every Chinese mom and likely every Chinese person likes. You should really check it out. You can get it on baidu for just ￥0.00.
