As far as I can tell, that's exactly what he plans to do. Coming from the man who made quite a few outstanding albums (one being double length!), it's a disappointing move. Plus, Billy's always been better at writing real songs with depth rather than commercial hits... it's just frustrating.

Ultra agressive psychedelic rock is für mich zum entspannen. Hi erstmal.................... Hab eigentlich alle Pumpkins Alben daheim. Nun stell ich mir die Frage, warum ich schon bei MACHINA - the machines of god aufgehört habe, solche Musik zu hören. Thema Siamese Dream. Ich meine, es ist das 2. beste Album. Der grunge-stil, dieser Teils schwere, schleppende, auch melancholische Sound, machte die echten Kürbisse voll aus. Verstehste was ich mein?

Hallo. Würdige mich nicht zu sehr wegen des Links zum Interview, der Stand vor ein paar Wochen auf der offiziellen Homepage ;). Allerdings habe ich den trotzdem auch zufällig entdeckt, weil ich dort zur Zeit nicht so regelmäßig nachschaue, da SP gerade (außer wegen "FOL") nicht sehr aktiv sind. Was die Frage angeht, dass nur noch radiotaugliche Singles veröffentlicht werden sollen: Seitdem Billy das zum ersten Mal erwähnt hat, hält er den Standpunkt hartnäckig durch (allerdings steht auch noch diese Sache mit dem "Album" aus, das über mehrere Jahre hinweg in mehreren Teilen veröffentlicht werden soll). Ich denke aber nicht, dass das langfristig so bleiben wird, da Billy es gleichzeitig für wichtig hält, die Musik ins Zentrum zu rücken. Und da ist die Form eines Albums früher oder später unverzichtbar. Außerdem gibt es ja viel zu viel Songmaterial (Owata, As Rome Burns, A Song For a Sun, evtl. einige Lieder aus der Zeit von "If All Goes Wrong"), um es auf ein paar Singles zu packen ;)

i'm surprised to see that someone who prefers mellon collie to gish plays machina the most. seeing as how machina was panned by most fans and critics and mellon collie was their biggest hit. that being said i really enjoy machina, its not ground breaking but its unique, has its ups and downs. gish is my favorite though, because it seemed to be more independent of what was happening in music at that time, a real stand out. to me Siamese dream and mellon collie (although i enjoy them both) seem to fit right in with the rest of the mid-late 90s music, alot of which was garbage imo.

Hat mit "Living Well..." "Hollow Man" und "Horse to Water" einge der besten Tracks des Jahres. Accelerate ist ein Schritt in die richtige Richtung. ATS war gut, aber zu flach und abgedroschen - halt nicht wirklich R.E.M. Accelerate ist mehr R.E.M. und die Tour(war auf 3 Konzerten) war auch um einiges besser als die ATS Tour.

Well, what can I say - music is my life! I listen to music every day (and every night if I have a chance, and if I'm in the mood). I can't live without music, I'd probably die. Every time I come home the first thing I do - I turn on my PC. But...to be honest - I forgot to close Winamp a couple of times. So...I don't mind that you asked about it. I'm sure there are lots of fake listeners here on Last.fm.

I didn't like James' stuff; it sounded too plain and repetitive, all these love songs, no real variation, so I never actual got the whole album.
