Oh yeah. I'm so sore. The run to the venue was intense. Glad I was one of the first to make it. It was an amazing show. They even played good songs while they were setting up for that long period of time so I wasn't too annoyed.

i still like a great deal of those bands (vivian girls being my favorite, probably because they've always been the most "punk" of the bunch), but yeah. it's reaching its saturation point. i think this frankie rose + the outs record is more varied stylistically, but it uses the same old tricks we've been hearing for the past two years.

i like it. i like it a lot. i just.. kind of expected more of a departure from the "girl-group punk" sound that's been prevalent over the past couple of years. i'm writing a review for it right now that will explain more, but yeah. it's a good record, but still kind of disappointing.

I KNOW. I was holding out on buying a philly ticket because I heard originally they were doing a bunch of tour dates in philly and NYC and places in between. They can't skip NYC, can they?

I wouldn't worry about getting to all of that too fast, I kind of just puked out all of the stuff I've liked recently. But no problem, I'm always down to give out recommendations.

Well if you want more chillwave-ish stuff, I guess I would recommend the Weird Tapes and Memory Cassette EPs (Memory Tapes under other names), and VEGA's EP (Alan Palomo project that's less weird and more catchy than Neon Indian). As far as other things, I threw up the stuff I've been loving lately into the sendspace thread, but other stuff that I've been liking... I don't know, been digging minimal techno stuff more (The Field, Pantha Du Prince, Gui Boratto, Isolee), some very specific sorts of IDM (The best examples of which would be the awesome Telefon Tel Aviv, Clark and Venetian Snares), interesting down tempo stuff (Theivery Corporation, Bonobo, Gotan Project), and of course my favorite stuff is all of the 80s/italo-disco sounding things (The labels Valerie and Italians Do It Better, Sally Shapiro, all of the stuff I threw in the sendspace thread [including Parallels], etc). I'll throw any of those up if you want. And I'm definitely not fucking with you. ;-)

should i check out lemuria and los crudos? considering the singer of los crudos is in limp wrist (who i like), i'm going to assume they're pretty great.

i've had an obsession with that video for the last few days. i'm not sure whether i should feel bad or not. regardless, i find it hilarious. eh, i didn't want to be too "mysterious", being a total secret just isn't me.
