WHOA, rippolino, one of the big daddies of artist counts! What an honor, hello! Bandcamp seems like a gold mine for finding more of the little guys, and bulk queueing them into Spotify playlist would be awesome! I'll have to think about how... It might have to be my next amateur scripting project, hehe. Thanks a bunch for the suggestion, and the follow too! Much appreciated, cheers! :3

If anyone happens by and wonders if I did this—yes! ... but not in the fashion I originally intended to with the genre tags. I ended up using the artist index because it was simpler to iterate through. The 10k lucky(?) winners(?) landed in this playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2qfheXNEsuNl1EIsvplCDt

Haha, pshaw, nothing to fear! I'm too dumb to do anything harmful except by accident. :L But absolutely yes, stick to your method! 100% is not necessarily better than 33%. I think artists appreciate more listener loyalty, and you listen to more full albums too, which is an honorable thing to do—experiencing the entirety of albums as the artists intended. Thank you for the comments and inspiration, and be well! :)

Hey hey, thank you for the comment and follow! Yours is impressive as well! :D I also saw you've been discovering a lot of new artists lately. Have you got any favorite sources/playlists for discovery you can share? If so, I welcome you to please do so! (actually, this goes for anyone reading this) I'm always looking to broaden and diversify more! Thanks again. :3

Thank you!! You also have commendable variety in artists! And if I'm not mistaken, you use a platform other than Spotify, in which case I'm especially curious! How do you go about discovering so many new artists? ... if you don't mind my asking, anyway! In any case, thanks for stopping by and for the follow too! :3

I do use Spotify as one of my main listening methods, but not for discovering! Mainly I go through people's libraries on here, or I search random words and listen to whatever comes up. Also going through the "similar artist" section of another artist can be pretty fun. I also use YouTube, SoundCloud & bandcamp and end up finding things that way

Uaaa!!! That's so kind and clever of you to think of doing that! My milestone is now saved forever (or at least close to it)! That is awesome. I feel special now, haha. Thank you! And also, I had been a little sad about having to dig deeper into my shoutbox to see your José Carioca pic, so also bonus thank you for leaving a fresh comment, LOL! Hooray! :3

You did it! Congrats Hekkit! :) Are you not listening to music to enjoy this moment a little longer?¶ And what's next? 100k scrobbles and 75k artists is probably impossible (unless you delete accidental doubled artists from your library but that ain't fun) ¶ By the way; our compatibility is Super!!! (ATM)

Yay!! Thank you, Amodas! :D Yep, I've been taking a little break and savoring the round numbers for a bit, hehe! ¶ Man, 100k/75k would've been cool, but yeah, I definitely need some leeway for repeat artists! I might try for 100k/70k or 100k/67777, and perhaps 88888/60k on the way there. :3 ¶ Super compatibility!!??HOW!? What shenanigans have you been up to??! Hahaha. I never thought I'd see that. Wow, that's amazing!!

When you click on a dot on Ishkur, a playlist containing all its songs is loaded in the page's elements. So I clicked every dot and extracted the artists and titles from each genre with a script (some genres actually fail to load all their songs and generate errors, I imagine probably because of some unexpected character in the track/artist names). Then I ran the extracted song info through text-to-playlist converters on spotlistr.com and on tunemymusic.com, which feels like a really messy procedure to me, so at best I hope no more than a third of the songs are wrong, lmfao. Then I combined the newly generated Spotify playlists together, then did my usual MA method from there! :]

ah, it's the dots... damn it. I clicked on the rectangles and was also searching in the elements but found nothing useful. I just did that again and I do get little playlists. Weird that I missed it. ¶ I still wouldn't be able to create the script, I guess. That's a shame since I'm a software developer... just never did this kind of stuff and since I can't inspect the dots I've no clue what to 'click'. ¶ Thanks again for all the work and the explanation. :)

Don't feel disappointed/discouraged! We're all only humans, not machines, so we naturally do human things here and there. :) ¶ Whoa!! That's very cool that you're a software developer! I think you definitely would've been able to do it! I mean, I didn't know how to create a script either before I started googling how to do every little thing with TamperMonkey and stealing lines of JavaScript code from MDN Web Docs and Stack Overflow, LOL! Nowadays, since I have a handful of scripts under my belt, I have at least some familiarity with ways I can tweak my web experience, but I'm sure you'd be able to grasp this sort of thing much quicker than I did! I actually still stumble around a lot because I keep forgetting everything, haha. ¶ It's my pleasure! I'm happy someone appreciates the stuff I do, and thanks for asking too! :)

Yupyup! There's all the information you could ever need in the src file names! Although I'll admit, because I was ever-so-slightly lazy about having to split the filename strings just a couple more times to isolate out the artist and song names, I also used the title attribute... 😳 I do stupid, pointless things sometimes (a lot of times), and that's OK. It works. :3

Hey! weird question but how do you find enjoyment in music with so many different artists? I feel like I would forget 99% of the music I discover if I don’t sit with the same music for a long time lol. It’s really cool that you’ve even discovered that many bands though <3

Hello! No worries, it's a very good question! One part of it is that I have sadly worn myself out on artists/genres before, so to keep my enjoyment of any current and future favorites strong, I purposely spend time away from them and listen to them only when I feel the need to. Another part of it is that broad artist exploration forces me to give an ear to more of the smaller artists, which feels like a small but nice thing to do too. And indeed, while I am listening to a lot of things I don't personally enjoy as much, I appreciate getting a feel for the other creative endeavors out there that I've been missing. And when I happen upon something I do like, it's like digging up a gem from the depths, and it feels quite special for me. And those, I come back to for another listen later as well to make sure they still have that same sparkle for me. Hope I answered well enough! Thanks for taking the time to ask such an interesting question and for the follow too! <3

Fantastic! I was looking through the hamburger menu (quite humorous too!) and saw that there are 11,321 tracks on there. That is MEGA. I'm already thinking of how I'm going to tackle them. :) I don't know how you found this, but it's great work and a great share! Thanks a bunch!!

Also! I apologize for the delayed responses. I've lately been feeling overwhelmed and having trouble finding the time and energy for everything I want to do, and on top of that, I've also been swept up by another wave of "must do," which I'm riding as my next bout of "true expression." I've been having a hell of a time struggling and learning how to even do it, but I'm slowly getting there, lol. Thanks for your patience and for remembering me!

Thanks for the suggestions! I took a little dip, and I enjoyed it! I liked the K-pop-hip-hop attitude that the Stray Kids showed on CIRCUS—real fun personality! I also liked the range of moods across ENHYPEN's MANIFESTO: DAY 1—what a trip, very talented artists! And even if I don't understand all the lyrics, the sound of a lot of Red Velvet's Bloom brings out my inner fun-loving, cute & sassy girl, hehe! And those little gamey sounds on Red Velvet's "Jackpot" had me like :3 too. And, wow, IVE is quite new, and they such have great energy! "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, you make me feel like 11" is a catchy and unforgettable line for me—just so very yes! Thank you again for sharing! That was great fun and made me happier. :)

Me again. I do have another suggestion. Again another friend has a son in law in a group maybe you would like... ;) His name is Brennon Ross. He is in a group called "Library Voices" He plays guitar and some vocals. They have some fun videos they made also. Kinda Indie Popish. Really good. I think you might like. ≧◠‿◠≦✌

Hi again and thanks for the suggestion! I enjoyed the Library Voices vibes! 🎧 "Every Night" got deliciously noisy and gave me a sense of ascension or transition, a great and appropriate ending for an album (unfortunately also their latest, from way back in 2015). I also thought "Model City" was cute with the music box opening, and I really liked how they created this calm but unsettling feeling in the song. And the music video for "Drinking Games" was super creative and well done. Wow! But I was also sad to hear about all the tragic losses and injuries they suffered from getting robbed, flooded, and attacked at a pub. It seems the band members are mostly focusing on other things nowadays, but I wish Brennan and the others all the success, safety, and joy in whatever they are doing now. In any case, I think I'll be adding something of theirs to the collection too, hehe. :) Thank you again for sharing! 😊✌

Wow!! I'm glad you liked them. :) I'm really surprised at how deep you listen. :))) Yes they haven't had the best of luck. I'm still hoping they record more someday. 🤞 I really liked their Drinking Games video also. Brennan can be heard on "Roles Reversed" a track from Marissa Burwell's latest album "Bittersweet" out earlier this year. Thank you for taking the time to listen. Have a nice summer. 🌼😊

Ooh! I checked out "Roles Reversed," and Brennan's voice is like a nice, soft pillow for a nice song. I'm glad he is still active in the music scene! Best wishes to him. :3 Thank you again for taking the time to comment and open my ears to more of the music and people out there, and may you have a nice summer as well! 🌻😁

Hello, and thank you for the comment and suggestion! I listened happily! :) "Instrumental in E Minor" scratched both my prog and acoustic itches at the same time, the steel guitar on "Home" was sublime like warm butter, and "Soup for My Soul" felt really cute—the "goodbyeee~eeee" melted me a widdle. 😌 Thank you for telling me about Holly! She's fantastic, and I hope she keeps doing and sharing what she loves. I hope more people can hear her too. I'll add something of hers into my collection of unique sounds as well. Thanks again, happy listening to you too, and best wishes to Holly Halldorson! :3

It is my pleasure! It really saddens me how so much creativity and self-expression only gets such a thin tail of the distribution of ears, how so many people feel unheard. I'm doing my best to listen to everyone, but I'm only one human, so... it's an impossible mission, but a beautiful journey at least. I appreciate you adding your color to the world as well as your work in helping artists find ears! I will have to check them out for sure. Thank you! 🙏🌈

I do happen to have a semi-secret Spotify playlist where I've been collecting sounds that caught my interest, created when fellow user sozzby1o asked if I had anything to share. I've been intending to add more to it, but I'll link it in its current state anyway in case you'd be curious about it also. 600+ songs is kind of a recommendation overload, though, so only have a skip 'n' sniff around in it if you want to: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5ZpT2pSFLiHrw5SRolCu4O 🦎🦎🦎 That aside, I'm happy to see a new update on Eternity Tree--Thumb & Kid 1 took me to a lot of different places; such fun range on it, great share! I'll definitely make it a point to shout on your wall when I have something bite-sized that I'm burning to share also! Thanks for your kindness, all the love back to you! 🔥🎧

Thanks! Your headbanging neon lizard looks like it'd exist in my frog's world somewhere, hanging out on a trippy rock next to a pond lol. How do you scrobble all your music? Is it all Spotify, Youtube...?

You're totes right! A pond of psychedelic animals sounds like it'd be a cool hangout, haha. But yus, I scrobble primarily from Spotify since I like the stats/tools for it, a small portion comes from YouTube and Last.fm, and I occasionally use Open Scrobbler when I notice something didn't scrobble for whatever reason.
