Exactly, it's so weird, until some decades ago, like the 50s, the idea of beauty was a normal body shape (not a skeleton), I can't understand how the idea of bauty for girls today became so unhealthy, that they have to puke their guts off in order be "beautiful", they're harming themselves and often don't even ralize that, I guess it's the power of media telling people that they must be super skinny all the time in order to be beautiful

You just said everything, there's some kind of constant paranoia, among teenagers mainly, to be perfect, and they seek to be liked not by who they are, but how cool they appear to be, the people at my school were seeking desperately for what was hype at the moment, and they didn't even think about if they actually liked those things or not, if those things were good for them or not, some even got into drugs because they thought it was cool, some girls in my school were even anorexic, because they were persuing this absurd ideal of beauty that girls today seek so bad, and that's completely unhealthy for them, they want to look like those models in the magazines, but even the models themselves aren't perfect, it has all this process to retouch the pictures with photoshop, it's all digitally manipulated, I can't help but feel that our society is so shallow and materialistic

Today I have kinda the same view, it's like in my school, where I attend HS, the popular kids were all following trends to appear 'cool', they were wearing brands and listening to music that was mainstream in the media, just to appear fashion, they were acting exactly as the media was telling them to, like MTV you know, it's like they didn't have personality at all, it's like people want to build an image and impress others so much, they end up forgetting about themselves, at first I wanted to befriends with them but when I noticed this I realized that being popular wasn't for me, but I was lucky because I found a niche with a few people who all shared all my views and tastes, we weren't popular in the least, we spent most of the time in the library or in some corner minding our own business, like playing RPG or something

Thanks. I used to see a lot of live music, not so much anymore, but when I do go to a show, it's mostly local music. I refuse to pay big money to see a show unless it's somebody I really want to see.

I wanted to be a cheerleader because I had the impression that they're the popular kids in the school, but when I grew up I realized I don't care about popularity at all, it was mostly a silly little child fantasy :P

The problem with Ice Hockey is that it's very dangerous, just look at this http://youtu.be/_Yafl4EcLvA and those blades are really sharp, I remember when I was 15 I broke my forearm because my friend fell over me in a match and his body weight fell all over my arm, the teams were mixed with girls and boys, and I didn't even cry the doctor said I was brave haha, but now I try to be more careful. I just hate that there's almost no incentive for female hockey here, most athletes need day jobs because they can't live off their careers, like the guys can in the NHL, in the last winter games in Vancouver, Canada won the gold medal and nobody cared, in that they everybody were cheering up but in the following days no one gave attention, they were only talking about the gold medal of the male team, that's so unfair it pisses me off, (here's a short preview of the matches if u want to see: http://youtu.be/allADNXAAMA, http://youtu.be/G7DeQbTzPE8).

I don't think I could be one, they must be very athletic and I'm a little clumsy, but I remember when I was about 7 years old when my mom put me in ballet classes I wanted to become a cheerleader instead xD, it's just a pity that they don't have many chearleaders in schools here, but I did play hockey for a while in my schools team, I played for some seasons in the junior league and then I left, but I still love playing hockey for fun, it wasn't even for extra creditis I just loved it ^_^

Cool, I liked HS a lot because I found a place where I belonged, in my previous school I was harassed with bullying very constantly, my mmom was even considering homeschooling for me, but in HS things changed for me, people were more mature, and I could have meaningful conversations and meet nice people, do you have cheerleaders in your school?

Exactly, it's middle school ^^ Oh high school yeah, I entered high school with 15, how are you liking HS? I have good memories from there, best time of my life til now, most of my friends I met in high school
