I'll have to give Hissing Fauna a couple more listens. I just can't get over how great Gallery Piece is though!

Yeah, there's going to be one in 2010 and it's going to be called Congratulations... They haven't started working on it yet though.

I really really like it. I haven't been listening to of Montreal for very long, and it's definitely the album I've listened to the most. I absolutely love Gallery Piece. What are your thoughts on the album?

Ah, well you should either reacquire a taste for piracy or buy em, because they're excellent... Of course, that's coming from a top listener here so I'll tell you everything they did was good :D

Cato? Really? That's my least favorite on Hissing Fauna besides She's a Rejector. Hm I see your library lacks The Sunlandic Twins and Satanic Panic... Fix that :P. Satanic Panic is just fantastic and The Sunlandic Twins as a whole isn't the best album, but it has some of their best songs (Requiem for O.M.M.2, Wraith Pinned to the Mist, and Oslo in the Summertime).

Skeletal Lamping is awesome, but it doesn't top Hissing Fauna or Satanic Panic... It's really different. I love a lot of the songs on it, but it gets old sometimes...

Yes, Seu Jorge is the man! (He's singing in Portuguese, though, not Spanish). He would have been a welcome addition to Bottle Rocket. I just can't get into that one.

It's a fantastic film. I'm a big Wes Anderson fan and The Life Aquatic is my favorite of his so far.

I quite like Combat Rock actually. But everything does sound different with them. I mean, Overpowered By Funk sounds more like Talking Heads than steroeotypical Clash!

I wasn't accusing you, it's just the "only with decent vocals" remark threw me off. I'm not as big on the Clash as everyone else seems to be (52nd on my charts).

We know we are. I consider TQID to be one of my favourite albums, MTV2 kind of forced it into me. Not a fan of Strummer's vocal style, I presume?

Probably the self-titled one too, or Meat Is Murder. They only made four studio albums, but there are plenty of compilations around, too, namely Hatful of Hollow which has Radio sessions and b-sides.

Yep. He's been band hopping recently. He did that one album with Modest Mouse, and at the moment, he's recording and touring with The Cribs. Anything to stay away from Morrissey it seems!

Less new wavey. It's all about Johhny Marr's guitar combined with Morrissey's frank lyrics, really. They really mean a lot in England, I don't know how much significance they hold in the US.

The best band to come out of Manchester/Salford in the 80s, and it depends on whether you like them. I don't like to shove my favourite bands down everyone elses throats, but The Queen Is Dead is a classic British album.

I've looked at RockBox, but downloading it doesn't really appeal to me. If you're willing to lose it, then the Classic should be alright

Ah right. I have an 80GB (actually about 74GB) iPod classic. All my mates have Nanos, but I have 28GB worth of stuff on it, so I'm probably gonna have this for a while. If you get a good case with it, it should last years (if the capacity is enough). I've had it for a year, but only listen to audio, no videos, so the battery life is decent.

You're not. It's the only album of theirs I don't generally listen to again. The last time I heard it all the way through was August last year, according to my iTunes!

That's a tough'un. I think I'd have to say Hail To The Thief, but in terms of plays, it's In Rainbows. How about you?

Ah that's all good, your shout was a long time ago. Yeah, I was a boy when this record first came out and I bought it on vinyl. It makes me cry too. :^) But yeah, some of those older artists were pretty deep and pretty exposed with their feelings and it really touched a lot of people.
