No problem. I can't remember the last time I got a friend request from a user that's not a bot lol. It is very unlikely that, over the years, we haven't at least crossed paths at some point across the web

I was! I saw Silverchair three times that year and that was probably their best performance.

How was Slowdive? I didn't even know they played over in the U.S. I bet 6 games will be enough to win the NFC South this year

That Codeseven song reminds me a lot of Effloresce-era Oceansize, meaning basically a cross between Deftones and Sunny Day Real Estate with some shoegazing. Impressive

Hey. Regarding bands similar to AB, not really. I run into songs that contain loose dreamy shoegaze that reminds me of Solarshift often. :-) I also run into girl/boy vocals that sound similar quite frequently. Those are pretty general things though, I haven't found anything that carries the same solid pop structures with the right...... tension. Does that make sense? Haha.

But you did attend that Cat Power concert instead of Spoon in '04, and that's what counts. I listened to Rhye when Pitchfork was all over them last summer or fall and made a mental note to follow them or see them live, but was not amazed by any particular song. Codeseven seems good if a little emo in the vocals, but I prefer when singers give a shit rather than try to sound passive and bored, so that's not a problem. Never heard Nightmare Air but I will go check them out now.

Merchandise is actually headlining http://www.last.fm/event/3533688; I submitted a correction request to last.fm PM me your address. I think you gave it to me about a decade ago, but I lost it.

Yeah, I told myself I wouldn't, since I generally boycott "comeback albums" and it's basically just a Shields solo album. Should've stuck with my gut instinct. Your tracks stopped scrobbling last month, btw.

Make sure to see True Widow tonight at the Basement in ATL. They just signed to Relapse Records, which means they're about to get really famous-ish

Plus on sites like this and RYM, you can find out what someone has listened to or not listened to with just a few clicks, so that takes away the need to ask

I play basketball so often and obsess over it so much that I don't really like to talk about it, but I was furious over our 85 year old owner picking a name like the Pelicans when names like Bounce, Kingfish, and Voodoo are available. And the Saints are dead to me until next August. We're already into the same bands and kinds of bands, so I guess I don't feel like there's much to talk about there. Sometime the more I like something, the less likely I am to want to just casually talk about it, because I have to spend years or decades figuring out all I want to figure out about it.

I'm a little late getting to this, but you're welcome! I look forward to listening to your station. Although, I'm sure it'll sound much like my own. :)

I don't know. We've never won a road playoff game, so even if we sneak in as a wildcard that will probably be the end of the road. Then again, the last 2 Super Bowl champions were both wildcards at 10-6 and 9-7.

Will Smith said something like "You have to go 9-0 before you can go 16-0" re: Roddy White's "We can go undefeated" comments the other day. Might see the Twilight Sad tonite

Steve Spagnuolo came, Tracy Porter left. Why are you not a Falcons fan? They're going to the Super Bowl this year. Jesus, this site is addictive. That's what I feared most about joining.

I looked at the bands you've listened to most in the last three months hoping to find something new. I enjoy Editors, but Editors radio kind of sucks. I mean, Snow Patrol? Really?

Hey Mr. daydream_set guy, is there any band you'd recommend to an Absinthe Blind fan that is unrelated to Absinthe Blind but you think is kinda/sorta like them? Maybe one i haven't heard of? :) THANKS!

Just wanted to agree that The Everyday Separation is horribly underrated. What an amazing album? I first got hooked because of Vanity Calls, but it's all great!

I see you're listening to The Durutti Column. I only have their LC album and really like it - anything else of theirs I should check out?

Agree with what you said Absinthe Blind's Everyday separation . Same for National Skyline and that band that was taken away too fast from us, Joy Circuit.

yeah, not cheap that's for sure! but i kinda had to. i needed to be closer to someone and a job transfer option came up as well. but yeah, i like it here. it's a place of it's own that's for sure. very different out here. but in a good way. once you get used to the rain you good to go. and the main thing is i hated the heat in atlanta during the summer. so i'll take the rain over that torture any day! anyway, maybe you'll make it out here someday. if not to live, then to at least check it out. cheers, man.
