How've you been liking the new Apparat?

Yea everyone I talk to that has been to Chicago has loved it there, so I am very excited. Still have to get accepted to grad school there before I go, but hopefully that isn't an issue. I probably will start posting more when school starts again and I have to find ways to procrastinate. I think I may try to get to lolla next year as well. I just need to find someone willing to make the 12 hour drive with me. I have been doing so much catching up with albums that have come out in the last year or two that I am pretty disoriented and am not totally sure which albums have come out this year. haha yea I love the rosebuds, Loud Planes Fly Low is one of my favorites this year. Along with that I've loved Helplessness Blues, Bon Iver, Old Friends by Pygmy Lush, Burst Apart, Coming of Age by Knesset and I am actually loving this new Charlie Pilgrim album, which I didn't expect. A lot of other ones too, but trying to work within 1000 characters haha. What have some of your favorites been?

I'm fcbucks1 on ap also. I've checked the site almost every day for over 4 years and have still not broken 60 posts, I think it is a pretty impressive level of inactivity. I did manage to post 3 times in the last week or so though, so it has been a big week for me. What was Lollapalooza like? I'm moving out to Chicago in a couple of years and am already getting excited to get a chance to check it out.

I lurk ap.net pretty hard and stumbled across your last.fm. After seeing our compatibility on here I figured it was time to creep your library for new music. Looking at your shouts, it looks like you got to catch GY!BE on their tour. I saw them in philly and it was unbelievable. We were all kind of stunned when we walked out of the venue since we had no idea what to expect going in.

Hell yeah. I have to ask, did they play "East Hastings"? They didn't at the Chicago date I went to, but did at the 2nd or 3rd night. Bummer. Oh man, that is gonna be rough, haha. Gonna have to have some caffeine locked and loaded for the morning. Digging "Black Tables", checking out some of their other tunes now. Just saw Yukon Blonde on Sunday! Great stuff as always. They played a handful of new tracks, I guess they're tracking a new album this summer, hoping for an late 2011/early 2012, I think they said.

Saw that you're going to GY!BE soon. Just caught them in Chicago and it was pretty incredible. Almost a 3 hour set. Kind of a test of physical endurance if you stand in line beforehand and then stand through the opener and GY!BE's set, haha.

Noah And The Whale is a major disappointment. I mean, it's a good album, I'll definitely play it in my car and cruise with the windows down when it gets nice out. But lyrically and musically, I really feel like the band could've done miles better.

Glad you enjoyed Howth. They were a pretty great find on my part. Also, I'm not sure if I'm digging the vocals in The Details. Otherwise they're pretty good. And waiting for this Typhoon EP to show up at my doorstep is literally driving me crazy.

Ahhhh haven't heard it yet. I'm picking it up this week. I'm so mad, both of their NYC shows sold out before I could get tickets. :-(

Yeah, I haven't been posting as much recently... Things have been going pretty smoothly with my site -- I redesigned everything, but otherwise, nothing incredibly exciting is going on. Growing every day though, so that's good! Maybe we'll be able to do an AP-LitS collaboration in the future? :D I listened to 'A New Kind of House' and am really enjoying it. "Summer Home" is incredible!

1. I totally did NOT just squeal. That was an illusion. 2. I've never heard the first album, so I don't really know where it stands compared to that but I like it. I was kind of hoping for it to sound more along the lines of the track she did for the Twilight soundtrack, kind of Imogen Heap-y but I definitely like it. 3. Will do. Definitely.
