Hello, buddy! Meet the first song by Magner Tales — [track artist=Magner Tales]Carry War No More[/track]. «It was made to make us more Human».

Hi Andy, are you on Neil's Jason Falkner wagon too?

Hi Andy, sorry for the delay in replying, just getting back into last.fm after a break. I never heard that, sounds great though, did you keep a copy?

Oh yeah, forgot i downloaded that - and don't call me bitch!

Yep! So am i picking you up from Delacourt at 7?

Yeah, I was there, I thought they were absolutely fantastic, though I can't believe it wasn't more busy. Mountain Goats tomorrow?

Yeah - Things here are groovy. Wish I had more money. Wish my girlfriend could get more time off work, but otherwise cool.

A'wright matey?

Briefly yesterday morning, I was having a ball, yes...

With Tim, I'd really recommend 'Greetings From LA'. He'd turned his back on folk whimsy and gone for funky grubbiness and songs about being hit by prostitutes. It's the sound of a troubled and very disillusioned man.

Nah - always preferred Tim myself. 'Sally Go Round The Roses' and 'Dolphins' (both from 'Sefronia' are lovely. Do you have Vol 2 of that Power Pop comp?

Ooh. Someone's listening to 'Come Out & Play: American Power Pop 1 (1975-78)!

Jeff Buckley? Get some Tim Buckley on!

Dunno. It might be the rinky-dinky guitar part (technical term) which makes you think it's festive. Not so fond of 'Give It Time' (the vocal is off), but the rest of it's great. Did you try Screeching Weasel yet?

'Let Freedom Ring' is great, isn't it?

Excellent! I'm v pleased you got the reference! Jim's fine - getting around and meddling with everything except his box full of toys. Oh and terrorising the streets of New York. Little tinker...

Pauline Calf's baby? Noone else has ever got it before! Unless you thought it was a homage to the 60s crooners :)

Yup. Still spinning the Ben Weasel. Thanks so much! I see its inspired you to check out 'Fitavi', which I still don't have yet. If you're finding yourself enjoying that kind of pop-punk, check out 'How to Make Enemies' by Screeching Weasel. :)

yeah, I'll be there from about half apst one until quarter past two.

Hello you! The Ben Weasel is cool. Thanks mate.

Yay! It's here. Not spun it yet - will do soon. Watch this space. Thanks again Andy.

Hey Andy - thanks very much. You're a star!

Hey Andy...Can I ask you a fave? Proper message waiting in your inbox... Hope you're groovy.

Hello Mr A. You finished your war thingy yet? That is the official title isn't it?

I hope so! I don't have my ticket yet either. x

At the moment I'm on a proper Costello kick, as you might've noticed. Lots of Wire too.

You've seen them played on my profile a lot. In case you haven't spotted, they're an all star band featuring Fat Mike (NOFX), Joey Cape (Lagwagon), Chris (No Use For A Name/Foo Fighters), Spike Slawson (Swingin' Utters) and Dave 'Just Dave' Raun (Lagwagon).

Hey Andy! Me First and the Gimme Gimmes? The first album, 'Have A Ball', is still by far the best.

Yeah I've been inspired to dig em out again, I do think you'll enjoy em, very under-rated band.

Yep, new PC! It's magic, really needed one. Been doing lots of gaming and downloading :-)

Haven't seen you about for ages mate, how you doing?

No - I'm not on there. I've never been into getting music by those means. Thanks anyway.

Thanks for the heads up about Twilley, Andy. Tell you what - I'm desperately after the long out of print Bad Religion album 'Into The Unknown'. It's never been on CD officially - do you think the Pink Place could turn that up?

Thanks for that! Will try and get round to checking em out, although I'm not listening to much powerpop at the mo, but it will certainly come round in my listening schedule again before long, I'm sure. Ah Mellow Candle, what'd you think then? I guess it'll take a few listens to really sink in but, like The Meadowlands, it's one of those records that continually gets better the more you hear it.

Is it just new stuff you're after then? Hmm, the new Yo La Tengo is pretty damn good, Joanna Newsom's new one is awesome, ditto Liars, bloody great band. Smashing new release from A Hawk And A hacksaw, lovely new Animal Collective EP too. Few years old now, but you would LOVE The Meadowlands by The Wrens, I think, its a MASSIVE grower, Good new stuff from The Red Krayola and Pere Ubu too.

Hiya, I'm ok just waiting for the arrival now. I know what you mean about the blueness - it tends to have these phases.

Ta for the birthday greetings, Andy. The day went ok but I wanted it quiet anyway. Didn't want to remember how old I'm getting!

Hi, I'm great thanks. Like preggo below me there, I don't do much putering of late. Hows you? Good luck on the move,,,and always VERY happy to give peopel recommendations, just tell me what sort of stuff you're after and I'll have a think :-)

Hiya! I'm doing ok thanks just don't seem to get on the pc much these days. I have to battle with two teenage daughters to get on the damn thing! Hope alls well with you x

I'm not staying, I'm only doing updates there now, but couldn't let Syd's passing go without comment. It's just not fair, ffs. 60! No probs on the mp3, glad to help.

Surferghost got me into The Soft Boys last year, cracking stuff. Particularly Underwater Moonlight, some awesome tracks on there.

Thanks again for uploading The Soft Boys, mate!

Heh, damn cheapo keyboard! My O's keep dropping off.

Yeah but those crackly recordings aren't in your top list because you disable the plug in when you play them! Go on there's nowt wrong with 'It's A Long Way To Tipperary'.Play it and be proud!

Ooh hello!

Funnily enough I messages you on CaB earlier about El Goodo! Yeah I got it sounding god, thanks again!

Just realised, you're talking about handles on CaB. D'oh. My handle is afrayn for anyone else seeing me... sorry for being presumptious, BWW - just want all the coolest people on board! ;)

Are you referring to the song of the same name by Flowered Up? Classic. If not, sorry - I need to work on being on your wavelength! There's a joke in there somewhere about radio / last.fm...

Weekender?

Told you I liked Big Star :-)
