Yes a lot of Perthlings do tend to move to Melbourne, but so do Tasmanians, the New South Welsh and South Aussies too. I had 16 very happy years in Perth, and I'll miss it. But, time was ripe to be on the east coast again, I grew in Wollongong NSW and my wife grew up in Tassie, so we sort of meeting half ways! My last Perth gig(s) was the WAMi Super Saturday and i was perfect. Seen some great bands and it was great to leave the scene on such a positive note. There is some great bands in Perth, some of the best in the country.

Heya. Been to any cool shows in Perth recently? Just over a month ago I moved to Melbourne and the only show I've been to so far is Wagons. Next week I might be going to three different shows - The Panda Band, Liam Finn and Owl Eyes. In December we've got Harvest. The Flaming Lips and The National are two of the many acts playing.

It was great. I couldn't agree with your more that they are tight band for a collective of artists. I was right hand side of stage a couple of rows back in front of Kathryn. Challengers was one of my favourites too, but Twin Cinema did it for me.

One quarter of the band in terms of the members, not *necessarily* quality! I am a pumpkins fan, I have been for a long time, 13 years? I want to like their stuff, but I lost interest at Zeitgeist. I should give their new stuff a try, though. Yes, I agree with you that those were some of the things letting the 2008 gig down - and that is the main reason that I don't want to see them again, in case we get the same boring crowd again and crap atmosphere. And just to add, regarding that gig, I also didn't think that Billy was being as much of a performer as he could have been. But hey, I'm sure it's hard to get up and be excited when the crowd is as dull as it was.

Hey, nah, I wasn't aware of that, cheers. Did you go to the gig in.. 2008? I thought the crowd was pretty average, which is what I didn't like - hence why I think they would be better in a smaller venue. It's still a little expensive for 1/4 of the band, and I don't really know their new stuff :(

Hey hey, yeah I totally agree with your friend, Sunday who was good but not what we got on Saturday. They also cut out Where is my mind, Gigantic and Winterlong from encore. However hows this, I went to blues and roots, I'm watching Swell Season last song they cover where is my mind they he goes stop! Out walks Black Francis, was incredible, yeah I got the recording from the first show.

I have tickets to see them in NYC on Weds...but I'm not going to make it sadly. I cant even re-sell them as I selected the will call option. Seeing them in London quite a few times, ATP, Berlin and Pitchfork...I'm still praying for another US date.....
