i didn't even bother with OLtA ! turn on the bright lights came out the year i moved to NYC so its near and dear to the heart. this single struck me because there's something very subtly different but touching going on with his voice...

D90 is of course an excellent camera-how are you with digital things in general-like photoshop etc.

i have a pretty deep collection of sylvian collabs but i'd never heard that song ! thank you much !! i LOVE war stories--it'll always be my favorite, i can just tell (though don't hold me to that)...but i got my hands on the new one and its very good. i don't think you'll be disappointed at all......

i found the video for 'when i grow up' a revelation. it was just perfect on so many levels. and i'll dig into the new depeche a bit deeper. and maybe david thinks that the truly loyal fans will 'grow' with him...but thats just not my direction. at least not now. blemish was a happy (er, not so happy) medium between the two and i really like blemish. but gone to earth and secrets of the beehive will always be close to my heart. and check out thomas feiner & anywhen--he's on david's label and his album 'the opiates' filled the void that manafon left. i can send it to you if you'd like.

yeah i adore the fever ray. i've had it since it came out but took a year to click and then i got obsessed. some things are worth the wait ! i never really listened to the newest depeche. i put it on and drift off thinking how i would rather listen to music for the masses or black celebration--so i do. never gave it a fair chance it all. should i ? and for manafon...i appreciate it for what it is, and i understand his direction...but what i love about his music is his emotional honesty and humanity and i feel like so much of that is gone. i'm not much interested in the intellectualization of the creative process--i had enough of that in art school ! and when he said that he can't relate to his older stuff anymore, i was crushed because i find all of that material pure and universal. kind of shocking.

Yes, I'm watching Ross. Paused it whilst I finished tidying. :) A lot of new features are real-time, which is why updates are instantaneous. There's a lot to get used to. I can appreciate it must be a bit of a shock.

ooh! thanks for the Morrissey reminder! I knew that was happening then forgot... tut. Dashboard - you're not the only one. No one was really happy with the site redesign, but quite a few features have yet to reappear, the site's still being rebuilt, to you never know. They're taking all feedback on board, if you want to say something in forums, although "bring back the old Last.fm" might not go down so well. :s
