There are so many concerts on Fremont Street during the year, and I go to them all. They're free since people gamble and buy drinks everywhere. While I'll never get tired of concerts, they all blend together since I go all the time to arena shows or small club shows. CONGRATULATIONS ON SUMMER OFFICIALLY STARTING! Hopefully you get to sleep in for a couple weeks before doing anything else.

Of those three artists, it looks like you've only scrobbled one song by Jason Aldean -- "Try That In A Small Town". I'd start there with his new album and work backwards. Always loved his country/rock sound on his last 4 records. Play the new album from start to finish and see what you think. Otherwise LastFM is killer at recs. Look for any artist or song you like, and then look at the similar artists/songs on their pages. It's pretty accurate since that's what most people listen to that also like that artist. I've discovered a lot of "new" (or new/old) music that way.

Real scrobbles = real stats! So much better! Oh snap..... which one shall I pick... Not sure if they have a song that could match what you enjoy listening to the most, but "In My Dreams" is a really good one from them. Shows off their vocals which is what's really impressive about the group. Let me know what you think! :)
Azioni
-
SundownDevil
LOL, sometimes I have those musical moods where it doesn't have to match what I listen to the most. Even though I only eat pizza and fast food in my daily life, when my friends come to visit Las Vegas, I gladly will take them (and eat) whatever they like. Thank you for the suggestion! WOW... I admit the idea of what I had K-Pop in my mind wasn't what this song is. She(?) or they(?) have really good vocals like you said! I actually listened to the song twice to make sure I didn't miss anything, and wow, each band member apparently has their own LastFM page too. Are they the "biggest" K-Pop band?
Azioni
-
paladinstrait
They do have their own Last.fm profiles for their solo projects, but they are definitely more popular as a group! I wouldn't say they are the biggest K-pop band but they definitely are very popular in South Korea. An interesting fact is that 4 out of 5 of the members actually went and preformed in North Korea for a campaign of cultural diplomacy. In my understanding they are a very respected group in South Korea! And I'm glad you liked the song!!

RIP to Saliva guitarist (and founding member) Wayne Swinny, who died of a brain hemorrhage on tour. I was going to see them on Fremont Street back in August (with Theory of a Deadman), but couldn't make the show, so I said "next time" which was going to be next Friday with Puddle of Mudd! Now, there probably won't be a next time, which always bums me out. ALWAYS TAKE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE ARTISTS YOU ENJOY IN CONCERT! Who knows if they'll break up or somebody will die before "next time" would come around. It's only fucking Saliva, who nobody cares about in 2023, but still... DON'T MISS CONCERTS! Tom Petty was great as well; sadly he died in 2017. I really liked Free Fallin, I Won't Back Down, and Mary Jane's Last Dance. Just try one or two songs at a time with "similar" bands. If you like it, add it to your playlist. If not, you move on. That's the fun thing discovering new music (even if it's "new old" music).
Azioni
-
killakee12
i really love older music but im an extremely impatient person so when listening to new old songs they're usually like 5 to 6 min long and that just causes something in my brain to say "oop, erm, that seems a bit long don't ya think? maybe tomorrow..." tomorrow never comes
Azioni
-
SundownDevil
Start with a random year and look up the Billboard Charts for that year. It’ll show the #1 song each week. That can be a fun taste of the sound of whatever year you choose, and if you like it, then you can look up more songs by the artist. Usually the “hit” songs aren’t super long and give you an idea at least, and you never know what you might find.

I will shed some tears for sure! :) I've watched their recent performances in the USA and they really sound great! I wish there was a meet & greet, but I never saw that option even in the USA, let alone Europe. I think I'd die if I met Fred! :) My Way is a great song. My LB favorite album is Significant Other, so my fav song is Just Like This (unfortunately, they do not perform it live), and Re-arranged is just behind it, but I love them all! Eh, Wes is great...and his crazy outfits! :) Oh yes, Karmacode is my all time favorite album, and Lacuna Coil is a very special band for me! I can say I'm friends with the band (especially with the bass player), I've seen them 6 times live and hung out with them every time, even had lunch with them when they were in Serbia...amazing people and amazing band!

We're obviously a different age group (which doesn't matter), but I've been to over 1,200 concerts in my lifetime and I have most of the tickets from the early ones. My biggest regret in my early to mid 20s was drinking too much at concerts, because I don't remember a thing. Some of these bands broke up or a member died, so I'll never see them again. I agree about concert t-shirts. I've NEVER bought a CONCERT t-shirt on the internet; that's blasphemy to me. Yes, they're overpriced at a concert, but that's not the point. It's that you were THERE when you bought it, surrounded by that smell of perfume and cigarette smoke, waiting for the lights to go out and BAM! Memories. That's why I love LastFM, because I can go through my profile (or yours, or somebody else's) and stumble on a song or a band I haven't thought about in ages. Discovering new musical obsessions -- whether they are just for the week or for a lifetime -- is what keeps me going.

Back in the 80s and 90s, he was in a "hair band" called Southgang. It's funny to watch now, but seeing him as the only non-blonde in the band (he was the guitarist) whipping his hair was funny. He'd then started the band The Marvelous 3, who had a Top 5 hit in 1999 called "Freak Of The Week". His solo stuff would be better earlier in his career. He used to be one of my favorite artists, and his live shows were just phenomenal. If you decide to check him out someday, you should check out his live album "Justified & Stripped". It's an intimate performance and you can hear the crowd as Butch does most of his classics. It was great album. I just loved the quote; it was from the last chapter of his book talking about being at a gas station when 99 Luftballoons came on the radio, and it made him think of his father (who passed away) and hoping he could be a good father for his own son. And then, that quote. Just like George Strait sang... "I still feel 25, most of the time." So true. ;)

Everything is all digital now; I haven't gotten a physical ticket in probably a decade or so. I'm sure you could print out a pass from Ticketmaster or StubHub, but it's not the same. Having that physical copy and manifestation of a special event in our lives is different than all-digital. Just the little things about it... a random dirt/blood/food stain, writing a phone number on the back of the paper, or any other random memories that can show its history.

What I envision is a spectacle of the variety that burns images into the cornea. There'll be a play palace, naturally--one of those inflatable castles that everyone can bounce around in.
