LOL, I notice that a lot of people are not crazy about Jose's vocals. I think they're just okay. He's more about vibe so his vocals aren't really the focal point so I give him a pass. Make It Right is very D'Angelo-esque. So are It's All Over Your Body and Trouble. Blackmagic is my favorite album of his. I have Dilla's Pay Jay album, which was supposed to come out in '03, but was never released because of label issues. Based on the list of producers on The Diary, I feel like tracks from Pay Jay will turn up on this new release. I hope not though! LOL.

It took some time to grow on me (I thought it was a lil' too slow at first) but now, I'm really vibing to it. If I'm not getting it entirely wrong, you seem to be into beats (considering Dilla, Ta-Ku etc). I'd definitely recommend checking out Knxwledge. He has released loads of stuff, it's difficult to keep track, but he's a sick producer.

(Ski Beatz is a recent go to for rapper Curren$y, but his recent resurgence began with a Camp Lo release on Redefinition Records, which is co-owned by Damu the Fudgemunk). Check Camp Lo if you're not up on them. Legend has it that many of the beats used on Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt album were first demo'd by the Lo. Peace..
