Hello. Firstly, The Red Album by Baroness is fucking awesome and is my discovery of the week. Secondly, what kinda electro nonsense were you looking for? More Squarepusher type stuffs?

It is a lot of ASIWYFA, but I think I had lots of backdated scrobbles on my iPhone. That said I do listen to Gangs on repeat most days haha.

Sure man. What do you enjoy? I see you dig some noise rock and powerviolence so immediately Pissed Jeans, Man is the Bastard, King Snake Roost, Tar, Scratch Acid, Spazz, Flipper, Butthole Surfers, Magrudergrind, Charles Bronson, Weekend Nachos, Janitor and a few others come to mind. Seeing your enjoyment of the melvins I suggest anything Dixie Dave (Buzzoven,Weedeater, Bongzilla) has ever touched is pure gold. This band Dopefight just released a full length and it's probably my album of the year. Iota is another great band, their album Tales is utterly fantastic. Elder is a band from Mass. who released a S/T last year and it's level of heaviness is not to be fucked with. Earth's Pentastar album is a mix of drone and sludge and it's a chill ass heavy as fuck eargasm. Definitely a must get. Ocean Chief released a very heavy doom album last year that is really good as well and here are some other jewels you may enjoy: Sollubi Aquilion Acid Ape Acid bath Aldebaran Zoroaster Black Cobra

They're that band that are no.9 on your most listened list. Would have thought you might recognize. You listened to Deerhoof?

yeah that makes sense and I agree, I pretty much skip the last 2 songs, but it keeps on getting better with every listen. I mean it's no Bullhead, or Stoner Witch, but it's damn good. and congratulations on finishing university man! you're lucky.

Sorry to bother you man (I guess I just go to you for all my Melvins advice). What's your take on the new album?

Damn :( They didn't play it yesterday, there were some soundproblems that didn't get fixed. Eventually Nathan just walked away in anger. After he got back they played 1 more song after which the bald guy with the beard got problems with his gear too. That was probably the last straw for them. It sucks!

hey thanks for the shout. afraid i can't really help you with noise rock influenced bands, i'm listening my way through lots of old stuff for the very reason you gave- too much shit to bother with nowdays. currently listening to the dicks- they definitely influenced the jesus lizard (jl often cover 'wheelchair epidemic' at their shows), i'd say they're worth a listen. more punk than noise rock though. anyway hope that's of some help because that's the best i can think of!

yeah it was a laugh.. dead swans were good and defeater impressed me as well. i liked the acoustic tune he busted out.. they're kind of generic but at least they mix up the subject matter a bit instead of talking about the usual nonsense.

Thanks dude, means a lot to me (and the band). We're slightly different than Fatalists, but live we make a great combination of bands. We're more into the short and punchy songs which hit you in the face sort of thing. How did you get Fatalists' album? Unfortunately, we're not signed so our album is all done DIY and we're selling it at gigs. It's available on amazon and iTunes though. But not in the shops or anything.

Fatalists are so good and they're a blast live. We supported them on their album release party a few weeks ago and they were in top form. They've not been extremely active as a band, probably explains the lack of listeners, but they're getting there now. They got a good review in Rock Sound today. We're talking about doing a UK tour together some stage later this year. Northern Ireland, Scotland and England.

i'm from brighton but i was living near stroud for a year before moving here.. had a good little chat with erik and got him to play kentucky anarchist as well that night at the croft so couldn't have been better really. those 8% bee stings get the better of you.. i'm a fucking idiot - i was well hungover and got on the wrong train.. ended up in chippenham instead of cheltenham didn't i? couldn't get there in time.. had to wait in swindon for an hour while i sulked in misery.. i bet it was sick. i really wanna hear that mischief brew and guignol collab but it hasn't leaked yet. might just buy it anyway - sounds like it'll be good shit.
