Yeah, well, I've pretty much been on drugs (metaphorically speaking!) since I bought that album, so maybe complete lack of sleep is messin' with my brain. Given a chance to actually peruse the lyrics, I may agree with you. For the time being, though, it's still transporting me to a pleasantly eerie sort of universe...

So, I actually spun Mew a few times at work tonight and didn't get clobbered! (I kid you not, I put on Yo La Tengo one afternoon, and the response was, WHAT are we listening to? This is HORRIBLE! (Also imagine that in a Scottish accent.) Anyways, my very technical response is this: Refreshing. Cool, crisp, clean...makes me think of lemonade.

Yeah, Kites was a bit of an impulse buy the other night. HMV's got Frengers on order for me but it'll be a while! Definitely liking it, but I've been exhausted both listens, so it's been one of those pleasant-blur experiences so far. I'll definitely report back when I've given it a more alert listen.
