As I said Therion is very creative with melodies so you'll not be disappointed. Seeing as you prefer symphonic stuff I'd recommend one of these albums: "Sirius B", "Lemuria", "Gothic Kabbalah", "Theli", "Vovin", "Secret of the Runes" and "Deggial". I especially like the first 3 I listed.

What you said about a band sounding similar in many of their songs is true for some of the artists I listen to. It's frustrating. Like, "Now, I know I've heard it somewhere" or "Yet another song I won't be able to tell from the others". One of the bands which, to me, suffer from this problem is Epica. I mention them because they are one of my favourite artists, but I swear most of their songs sound very similar to my ears. It's just that I like their usual melodies and arrangements :D An example of a creative band is Therion- they have *lots* of easily distinguishable melodies. Nightwish is pretty good at it too.

"Too bad that there isn't much life in that group." I'm afraid this is the case for most Last.fm groups, perhaps except for big ones. I used to think about lauching a group about a band from my city, but I gave up when I started to think about how empty it would probably be.

Well, my music taste is a bit complicated :P I listen from classic rock to death metal or goth. I read in your description that you like Lordi. In a wierd way i like them too. They have something different to offer to music when most bands keep on playing the same old things.
