Hi I saw you were a listener of The Palace Guard. Awesome username. I couldn't help but think of a band you might or might not know. Bo Grumpus. They were around the same decade as The Palace Guard. I recommend them, if you never checked them out.

j--just how do you manage to listen to so much music? Very impressive library.

Your suicide scrobbles are truly frightening. I strive to be you.

55k srobbles on The Fall is legendary

Hello! I make music under the name "Avargyűjtő" (Fallen Leaves Collector) in Budapest, Hungary. In addition to Surfrock and Krautrock, I primarily follow the traditions of contemporary Eastern European and Russian Post-Punk. I don't make money with my music, and I don't plan concerts either. I have money, and i don't want to be famous. For me it's just about the Post-Punk, Krautrock and Surfrock legacy, which I'm trying to authentically carry forward. ........................................................... Hiya, been having a good time playing your library this morning - cheers!

Hi Bob. Congratulations on yr outstanding Top Album library

Those charts are great!

Hi, cheers for this link - I wouldn't have spotted it otherwise - will look forward to giving it a listen!!

great eclectic listenings here

Thanks for the add ;-)

I’ve got quite a few spoken word cassettes that I’ve added to the computer + I’ve still got some pre-recorded tapes kicking around (The Jam Setting Sons and Banshees Kaleidoscope) – although I’d be too worried about them jamming to play them. I don’t really use Spotify much, mainly Last Fm – there’s a new band called Dogfeet that I like and have got some of their stuff from Bandcamp. Not sure about the pros and cons of spotify – there probably are people who never buy any music but just listen to it for free – although folk always used to record stuff for each other and off the radio anyway.

Hi, Did you keep all your Peel sessions then or did they disappear to that mysterious place were prized possessions disappear to? I’m not sure about the graphics on my JP show notebook becoming more sophisticated but it’s a thought! I still doodle any chance I get. Some of the drawings of punks with dog heads were inspired by Savage Pencil or one of those artists. I imagined that they were a punk band called The Dogz…. Has the music you’ve been buying this year been from old or new bands? I find it surprising how many really good old bands there are that I’ve never got around to listening to – I’ve only ever heard a couple of tracks from the Glaxo Babies and keep on thinking I ought to purchase some of their music. Last FM is really good for “discovering” new/old sounds – I found out about Dr Strangely Strange via this site. I get a bit overwhelmed by how much good music there is out there…

Cheers I’m really glad I held on to my John Peel Notebook – wish I hadn’t lost the other(s) though. They’re interesting as Peel related ephemera but still a bit embarrassing on a personal level – I keep on wishing how I had better musical taste!!

Cheers for the friend request

Thanks for the Friends add, Grumpy Bob
