I don't think that ambient is his strong suit anyway. I think it's too easy to draw comparisons between the forest trilogy and Narkopop, even if Narkopop is a direct follow up to Pop. Voigt really built from the ground up and the atmosphere is very ghostly, and I think most people are mistaking that for emptiness.

Probably because they don't want to sift through 500 shit releases each year and would rather outsource the task to a contrarian. There's no way you can praise Pop as much as he did in that review and give Narkopop a 2. They are sonic twins.
