I just got home from Anna's show! Thank you so much for not spoiling the end for me... I was in awe! She stood for a little while only 30cm away from me. So incredibly close! I couldn't do anything because she was singing the final song (the new one you showed me) while walking through the crowd, but hot damn! SHE WAS RIGHT THERE SINGING IN FRONT OF ME!! NOT ON STAGE, BUT TRULY IN FRONT OF ME!! And she's tiny as fuck, I swear I could fit her inside my pocket.

But it was to be expected that she would play mostly (if not only) songs from "Dead Magic". Thanks for sharing the new song! I'm listening as I type this and the melody sounds like Sigur Rós or pretty much any other post-rock band out there (Explosions in the Sky come to mind); beautiful sound (and that always gorgeous voice), definitely, but unoriginal. Anyway, seeing Anna performing "Dead Magic" live is still a whole lot better than not seeing her at all. I could actually go see two of her live shows (she's playing in two cities nearby), but considering it'll be just "Dead Magic", I'm happy with the one I already have the ticket for (which was a birthday present, btw) :) Looking forward to November!

Songs from the new album probably work well live, but they're too long, so she'd end up playing very few songs. Also, I really want to see her performing live songs from "Ceremony". But what it matters the most is that it's most certainly a very good show and, yes, I am excited for November because of that (and definitely not because it's the month of my birthday, I'm too old for that shit). But, yes, it's really good. "Ceremony" still sits comfortably at number one, for me, but "Dead Magic" is a damn good effort. My favourite track, so far, is "The Marble Eye": it's the most hardcore pipe organ action I've ever seen her involved in. Madness! But the opening track is awesomecakes, probably the most "balanced" track on the whole album. Actually, "The Mysterious Vanishing of Electra" is the song I enjoy the least. But, in general, the new album is very yummy! I really, really hope she'll come to Portugal during her current tour. It ends in Spain, no more dates afterwards, Portugal is right next to it, so... Fingers crossed! You already get to see her live at least three times this year, you bald bitch!
