Concerning Atlantis, I think the most important point is that there is no reason to suppose there was one "real" city upon which the story was based - though clearly much of the inspiration came from places like Helike and Knossos. I'd love to go to Crete one day to see the ruins for myself; the closest I've been is Athens, which was breathtaking. I've studied the archaeology of those cultures so it holds particular fascination for me. I'm glad you're enjoying my blog - it's always gratifying to receive positive feedback, and as for your English, it's beautiful! Better than most native speakers!

Hello Jenny :) What a lovely message - and may I say I am instantly jealous - you live on Crete! ... *grin* One of my great passions is history & classical history in particular - One of the things I'd love to do before I die is spend years exploring the islands and coastline of the Mediterranean lol. You are so lucky to be living in such a beautiful place and one steeped in history :))) I love your taste in music as well - last.fm is not truly reflective of my tastes as most of my cd's have never been played on my pc & a lot of my current listening just reflects my exploring new artists that I discover here *grin* Your words to me are very special and I thank you again :) ... Having read your about me, you could be describing me lol. ... minus the husband .. I have a girlfriend *grin* right down to loving cats :) and the paralyses caused by my own self expectations, a daily battle lol. .. like you I love talking but hate small talk :)) as you might notice by the length of my comments.
