There was too much going on for me to get it first time, or even second or third. I ended up leaving it for a month and going back to it, and it just clicked. Insurgentes is still better though in my opinion

Only one I can think of is The Gathering, don't see them in your library. Plenty on spotify, I started with their latest one with a new singer, it's called The West Pole. I've listened to a couple of others with Anneke van Giersbergen singing and they're pretty damn decent too. Souvenirs and Nighttime Birds were the two I've sampled so far

Re: Crowes, I suppose the compilation "tribute to a work in progress" would give you an overview. It's all singles though and some of their album tracks are more interesting. So, my favourite is their 2nd album "The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion". When it came out it blew me away as there's such a gulf between that and their first album. The songs still "rock" but the "jam" elements were coming in. Awesome record, the band's energy really comes across. Live is where it's at with the Crowes though. Give "Freak n' Roll" a listen. It's the classic line up (Marc Ford on guitar, Ed Harsch on keyboards). Really shows off what a great live act they are. The other "live" album's not so good, doesn't quite have the spark. They also did a live album of Led Zep songs with Jimmy Page a few years ago. That's a good listen (if you like Led Zep of course) I've got plenty of their stuff if you find you like it!
