Your last few scrobbles give me hope that our compatibility will mesh just fine soon (Condor, Toxic Holocaust, D666, and Whipstriker). A man of apparently fine taste.

You don't use Skype, do you? Communicating through shoutbox messages/PM works to a certain extent but if there's ever a need for more.

I thought of Black Widow Records right away and I'm a sucker for that eclectic sound. Doom + prog + whatever, you know? Rare to hear that from a non-Italian band though. I found "Netherworld" quite easily. The first two are harder to find but I saw that you have scrobbled the debut. You may share that one if you want. Cheers.

Btw, do you (still) have AraPacis - So Many Leapers? I discovered the band today and immediately ordered a A Disturbing Awakening CD. They had a different vocalist back then, and I might not like the album as much because of it, but I'm still curious and want to hear that Leapers album.

It helps if you just give me the A/S/L, I mean band name + release I should check out first. That's how I roll, anyway. Don't much care for songs, I want the whole shebang, i.e. albums. Hint, hint.

Scroll, scroll, scroll...ah, I have arrived at my destination. I might have. Lost most of my mp3 collection a while back so synthwave music ended up in cold storage. This could be a good time to revisit the genre though. Is that EP something you can and are willing to share?

Ya think I can add a band based on this release? AFAIK it was only sold like that. A CD-R without a cover or anything. Can't recall a precedent, so...

Go ahead if you got something to recommend. Maybe something electronic/synthetic from 2014.

Didn't expect this much work to communicate with you via the last.fm shoutbox. C'mon, make it easy, dude. We both like doom metal and synthwave, ya know! (And Heavy Load!)

You know, for a doom/death band they aren't very "doom". That's my biggest gripe. Gotta live up to the M-A handle, I guess... No, but seriously! I wish they had more super crushing doom moments in the music. Now it mostly sounds like doomy death metal and not doom/death. Ergo, the music isn't for me. Can't blame it on Tony-boy, though, since he does nothing musically. Guess I will have to wait for your rating until you've written that review.

Yeah, I know you have promised to write a review! But honestly, I just wanna read a review from someone not connected to the metal archives in any way. Can't take all these 9-10/10 reviews from M-A users seriously. Feels like nepotism. If people away from M-A love it as much, then I will accept Halberd being awesome (even if I can't agree with the opinion myself).

Let me know if you have any to add etc. I do have an offline list which I update now again to here. Thanks TAB

Thanks, man. I like your's a lot too. Comus is an all-time favorite of mine. Next time you find something neat feel free to show it to me, I love to share findings with other people.

Eeh, probably not. I'm known as Satanicprogdoomgrind on there, although I don't interact with the community. I only made it to help fix mistakes and add bands.

I agree with the rehashed thought. Too bad it wasn't more borderline like adding Slipknot or Tool, although I've always liked Tool and would probably have written a serious positive review for them. It is indeed sad when people totally miss it, and get all butt-hurt. The funniest part of the whole thing was the additional notes and band member profiles lol!

I wrote one, but I just wanted to get it in before the band was taken down. I'm sure people not accustomed to the types of jokes played on the site were flooding the "Why was X band accepted?" thread on the forum. Mine wasn't nearly as graphically sexual as a couple I read were, I just talked about how my mom is a metalhead for liking the band :D

I greatly lamented that Nickelback was removed. LOL!!! I guess that's one step back from gaining 100k bands on the site. Did you write a review before the April Fool's joke ran it's course? :P

The Residents are tricky in that most of their albums are very concept-oriented, and they are driven by a compulsive need to never stay in the same style for too long. Despite this, pretty much all their stuff sounds like THE RESIDENTS, if you follow me. In general, as an introduction, I recommend Duck Stab. There's no hidden concept, Constantinople is one of their all-time biggest hits, and hey, Primus covered songs from that one. So why not? If that ends up being too noisy for your liking, the newer stuff may be up your alley. Demons Dance Alone is probably their most accessible, but again, it's still The Residents. They've got a massive discography; I'm sitting on twelve of their albums and I barely feel like I've scratched the surface. But there's usually a method to the madness, so don't just binge on various albums without giving the concepts a consideration. Oh, and definitely see them live if/when you can. They put on a great show.
