Great music, i love the old stuff more but ultimately Alternative R&B is very goated and super influential and by far one my favorite genres

Rihanna is not R&B (except a few tracks). Beyoncé used to be R&B but now she's somewhat rapping most of the time, I would say she's hip-hop or pop now.

I consider JT as pop-oriented R&B. Some of his songs are plain pop like Can't Stop The Feeling, Mirrors or Say Something but his body of work contains a lot of R&B.
