Leftfield generally means something out of the ordinary, which quite a lot of these artists are. A lot of people find it hard to tag artists with actual genres, so instead, they tag the artist with the artist name eg. [artist]Leftfield[/artist] tagged with[tag]Leftfield[/tag].

beatsdigital (a mp3 store) uses "Leftfield and Chill" as a genre name. With subgenres Acid jazz, Ambient, Bossa, Downtempo, Ethno, Experimental / Glitch, General Electronica, IDM, Nu jazz, Trip Hop I don't get it. It probably means just that, shit that sounds like leftfield.
