The evolution that rock’n’roll has gone through since, more than six decades ago, Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry shook the foundations of American popular music had its crowning moment when Rocket From The Crypt appeared on the scene in the early 90’s. On stage, this San Diego based band fronted by Speedo (John Reis, who also plays in The Night Marchers and Hot Snakes) were (are!) an honest celebration of the most hedonistic and partying spirit of rock’n’roll, a real hurricane that razed to the ground everything on its trail. The legendary line up that recorded such perennial classics as “Circa: Now” or “Scream Dracula Scream” will land in Europe to do just 5 gigs, of which only one of them (on Saturday the 6th of April, in Barcelona) will happen in Spain. This show will serve as well as a birthday party for both La Castanya (5 years) and the Catalan band Biscuit (20 years), who will have the honor to open for Rocket From The Crypt that night. As Kool and the Gang used to say: “Celebrate good times, come on!”.

Los años y años de evolución que ha experimentado el rock n roll desde que Bo Diddley y Chuck Berry sacudieran los cimientos de la música popular norteamericana hace más de seis décadas vivieron su esplendorosa culminación con la aparición de Rocket From The Crypt a principios de los años noventa. El grupo de San Diego liderado por Speedo (John Reis, también en The Night Marchers y Hot Snakes) eran (son!) en directo una sincera celebración del espíritu rock n roll más festivo y hedonista, un verdadero huracán que lo arrasaba todo a su paso. Con la legendaria formación que grabó obras inmortales como “Circa: Now” o “Scream Dracula Scream”, Rocket From The Crypt se acercarán a Europa para realizar únicamente cinco conciertos, de los que sólo uno de ellos (el del sábado 6 de Abril, en Barcelona) será en España. El show servirá además para celebrar el quinto aniversario de La Castanya y el vigésimo de la banda catalana Biscuit, quienes tendrán el honor de telonear a los de San Diego. Como decían Kool & The Gang: “Celebrate good times, come on!”.
