Hey, RP! Nice to see you're still here! I kinda stopped scrobbling for about 6 years when it wouldn't play nice with my Itunes player. When I started again... boy, did things change! No more jangle-pop group... no more groups at all! Last.FM seems to be a shill for Spotify, which I'm not a fan of. But it's nice to see you're still listening to some great music!

Hey! Yeah, I don't actually do much ON this site anymore, but I never got rid of the scrobbler, since it's kind of nice once in a while to look back on what sorts of things I've been listening to a lot. Obviously, I haven't been listening to music as much as I once did, but I don't want to ever lose the habit. Nice to hear from you again!

Hey cool! I had a period of '60s girl groups, too. Shimmering vocals with great hooks and usually some fantastic production. Obviously, all the groups associated with Phil Spector are great listens, but the song that tends to stick with me the most is "When Will I See You Again" by the Three Degrees. Such a warm slice of Philadelphia pop-soul, and a beautiful distillation of longing.

Hi, thanks for accepting royalpoet :D I see that you're the leader of the Jingle Jangle Pop group <3 And your custom selection and charts are fantastic and I can see many of my fave artists among the band names in those artist clouds in your sidebar. Nice to meet you, greetings from the UK and have a lovely weekend.

I like a lot of those Delorean tunes you've been listening to up there. Glad you liked Afraid of Stairs. Since you did, you might also like Death Valley Sleepers. Here's a link to some I posted. http://powerpopulist.blogspot.com/search/label/Death%20Valley%20Sleepers Follow that link over to the excellent Hits in the Car for more (if you like). You might also like some of the other songs you see in those two posts, especially The Botticellis, Evervess, and The Orchid Highway. Absolute agreement with your formula of melody + fuzzy guitars!

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm eager to hear the rest of the new Teenage Fanclub album. Despite the name of my blog, I'm into a lot more than powerpop, so I appreciate your including other genres in your reccos. I love The New P's but found myself only getting into three or so songs on Together. I'll take a closer listen to Beach House. I love dreampop, shoegaze, and psych. In the latter category, I'm really enjoying the Aussie band Tame Impala. I've bought some at eMusic and have linked to some other blogs that have posted some of their songs. BTW, thanks for visiting Powerpopulist and for the kind words. I do hope you'll find music there you like. Looking over your top 30 artists, I found myself going yes, yes, yes!
