You'll be surprised to know that I too am curious about the collaboration between and Fripp and Eno. Where guitar wankery is used with atmospheric intent (which I assume is the point of the project) I can see some worth, perhaps even substance. If you make any progress in this direction (or the Talking Heads, cough, Stop Making Sense, cough) let me know. I haven't got Big Boi's album yet. I will. But I'm still getting my head round how awesome Outkast are. Rap has been a slow revelation for me, it takes time, dedication, and Pitchfork to tell me what to listen to before I get too carried away with any particular artist. Have you heard The Drums? They're like a classic, fun, CALH-a-billy band, but international-indie-cool. I think you'd dig in your time off from the more serious exploration of the works and life of Brian Eno.

Hey Jezebel - did you enjoy the album? Two plays through suggests you did, and that gives me an excuse to post about the Talking Heads - consider yourself warned. If you do like My Life in the Bush of Ghosts, don't get carried away or excited by the prospect of Everything That Happens Will Happen Today. They are very different from each other. Your next move (and as per usual, you obviously had to approach Byrne's discography the wrong way round), is Remain in LIght, which I've always assumed you would adore at some stage in your messed up life of music appreciation: Yes that is the Talking Heads' most inaccessible album (assuming we exclude their late-career, marginally listenable material). And the link is Remain in Light is the last of three albums Eno produced for the Head. Alternatively, just get the live album Stop Making Sense. It is electrifying. End of rant - now waiting for you to download and love ETHWHT.

Having listened to it four times today (that's a lot for me - haven't done that since In Rainbows, it's still no Boxer which is extremely consistent. This one has some pretty incredible moments - I'm a sucker for Blood Buzz. Track down the live version they did of Terrible Love on Jimmy Fallon. It's phenomenal - cause where as the album version gets noisy, the live version gets loud - and more impassioned if that's possible. That track still seems out of place on the album though - it's quite different to what they usually do, but then they kick straight back into their old groove. I don't like that because I usually put on an album based on mood and I'll probably end up skipping Terrible Love because I'll want the vibe of the rest of the album.

I will check out the Dubstep, cause I bloody love alt-electronica/dance from Britain. I will check out Eno, I have had Another Green World for ages, I like it, but I've never been obsessed with it. And the dreamy-ambiance stuff sounds good too. It's funny, my friends accuse me of obscure and obsessive music tastes, you accuse me of virtually the opposite, but both sides give me shit for reading Pitchfork! It's true, I treat Pitchfork like most would treat a music radio station. And I don't care, I tend to love 2/3rds of the music they hype. Also you will be proud of me, I am listening to Genesis, Selling England by the Pound. It's ok - and more bizarre then I expected, I see where Porcupine Tree gets a lot of his influence (that isn't Pink Floyd). Probably won't be in heavy rotation though. Check out Galaxie 500. I implore you.

Yeah, I understand how you got obsessed with her for a little while. I notice your also digging Beach House: Damn that is a sweet sweet album. On a similar vein you should probably give Galaxie 500 a go. Pitchfork 10/10d their On Fire album, so I downloaded it, and it rocks my socks off - It's Yo La Tengo, meets Smashing Pumpkins meets Sonic Youth, meets that no/cold wave slash shoe gazer. You'll like it more so. Also, get some early Phoenix albums, I don't know how you feel about Wolfgang Amadeas, but I think you will like some of their earlier stuff more, particularly "It's never been like that". Broken Social Scene are about to drop a sweet sweet album, so get listening to them summore. So to are LCD Soundsytem. 'Drunk Girls' is quality, but the rest is going to be far less single's orientated. Finally: LISTEN TO THE NATIONAL DAMN YOU!!! They are so fucking good, and their new album has some very very cool sounding songs. Recs for me? Happy easter bro.

Haha same bro, back when last.fm was just our groups thing, that no one else did. (Or wanted to do.) So I have some talking points: what are your plans regarding big day out? I'm still really unenthusiastic about the whole thing, and have a job prospect that might render it impossible, but if that falls through I may need to go. (Just for the holiday away from work.) Secondly, the Arctic Monkeys. You're clearly a fan of the new album, but does it beat Favourite Worst Nightmares? I think Geoff told me your thoughts, but they were lost in the drunken haze of Elza's flat.

no way, they're probably going to continue on their trait of having their b-sides as their best songs

What you've seen of me? Interesting... beard suffers from my impatience for quality results. It tends to smatter all over the place in a couple of hours, and then spend the next week attempting to fill out. By which time I'm thoroughly sick of it, and finding that I don't quite get enough utility out of it (ie it doesn't look cool, beard stroking doesn't make me smarter, and it doesn't keep me particularly warm) for it to be worth it. So it comes off in an early morning fit of post-shower rage.

Nah, he was very witty actually. Someone kept yelling out for a song, and he said something along the lines of "you've got to understand, the setlist is here for a reason. It has been carefully ordered to create the best possible experience, every moment of this show has been planned down to the smallest detail, it takes years of experience to construct a setlist as good as this one... etc etc. And when they finally came to play the song he said... "this ones a request". It was loads hilarious. Also I grew a beard for a week in honour of the awesomeness of that show, but once again I got disgusted at its poor quality and shaved it off.

Haha sounds ridiculous. I really don't feel any incentive to listen to dredg popst lietmotif these days. Maybe your enjoyment of the new album will change my mind.Bro, dunno if Geoff filled you in, but Okkervil River were Mindblowingly awesome. They played nearly all of the Stage Names (their best album in a very strong discography), played two encores, took requests, and generally rocked. They were amazingly tight, and the lead singer (Will (something)) was just an incredible vocalist and front man.

Yeah exactly, there is a really awesome video of 'Daniel' performed on letterman somewhere on the internet, I think I watched it on pitchfork. Apologies, i didn't buy deerhunter tickets this weekend - i was shitabrick busy at work and forgot all about it. Will make a proper attempt to do it this friday. And yes, i am very very excited about okkervill. They just sound like they would be awesome live on their records.

not bad at all, i'll do some editing to make it a bit more layered and take out the rough bits, plus add some bass plus a bass solo and try get ryan or nagini to do some drums for it. It'll end up like 10 minutes long and amazing. . . I'm on a boat
