Britpop-rocks, A 2009 Soundtrack
The end of the decade sees a lot of reminiscence over the last 10 years. Early in the decade, the UK's influence on the American music scene was at an all-time low despite some remarkable talent. Gradually we've been seeing more acts coming to the fore in the US, most notably from female vocalists. 2009 has seen a handful of UK goodies in the form of new acts and new albums from established artists. The new musicians are pulling influence from a variety of sources, there is certainly something for everyone. This playlist is a selection of some of the more accessible music to come from overseas this year. Perhaps these artists will be a platform for a new push towards more British music on the US charts in the next decade (RIP The Rakes).
