TeenageRiot-
‘'Sunday Bloody Sunday'. What a great song. It really encapsulates the frustration of a Sunday, doesn't it? You wake up in the morning, you've got to read all the Sunday papers, the kids are running round, you've got to mow the lawn, wash the car, and you think "Sunday, bloody Sunday!".

Yeah I actually looked out for the anniversary edition today but had no luck finding it. Was actually buying all of those at first. I got the first two albums when they came out anyway.

Listening to some of that Listen to the River 20 disc boxset. It’s really really good.

Hey, we communicated here years ago… what’s up? Seriously though, would you do me a favor? Please scrobble something from artist name Tomomi Midair World. I’d like for her to get enough listeners to be on the similar artists lists here. Anything will do with my favorites being White Turtle Neck, Midair World and Mark the end.

ambient wedding :) it was that track plus one of the 3 pieces of Eno's deconstruction of pachelbel's canon.. thought the latter seemed especially appropriate as pachelbel is often used as a traditional wedding song.

The biggest problem with Roberto Carlos was after he scored that free kick against France he was forever expected to try and repeat it

Have you still got that thing you did where you combined all the different “raga called pat” sections?

Fergal, this Michael White album is brilliant! Thanks for tipping me off. The one I found on spotify was a combination of Spirit Dance and Pneuma, so I'm not sure where one ends and the other begins, but it's all good.

Absolutely. He was so massively influental, as well: you can hear his influence all over Sonic Youth's music, for example. He influenced electric guitarists as much as he did acoustic ones, interestingly.

Hey there sir! Are you into [artist]Sonny Sharrock[/artist]?? I just discovered him today and thought, well hell, Fergal will dig this! I heard his first album, Black Woman (it's got wordless female vocals that'd impress Fly-era Yoko!!) and am now listening to his last, Ask The Ages... brilliant jazz guitarist.

Isn't that D'Angelo just fantastic?? I heard it once last month, thought it was decent, then forgot. Suddenly this week I'm in love with it! Gnarly and weird and just interesting through and through.

Listening to Shleep now for the first time and it's hitting me like neither Rock Bottom or Ruth did... amazing fragility... and more oomph in the arrangements from what I recall in the others too, though it's been some time since I listened to them (oomph is a lousy descriptor I know) - wow - yep, that's better.

Hey there sir, I recall you eulogizing Horace Silver recently.. and thought to give him a try. Got an album I should go for first?

Looking through your charts - I haven't listened to any Ewan MacColl & Peggy Seeger yet but Peggy solo is excellent, and to these ears anyway seems way ahead of its time.

I counted it out and realised that I have been listening to Hole for almost 20 years -- which is older than some of the little girls that were at the Courtney Love gig the other night..
