Yeah, it sure wasn't what I was expecting...! I was expecting something a bit more like what you described. I think I read something that said the album was going to be really quite different... I guess we'll see when it comes out. He's playing a solo show in London next month; I think it might be his first solo show? It's in a pretty small pub. I kinda wanna go, but I kinda don't know what the hell to expect or if I can be bothered to go on my own.

I think it's one of his best. I've really grown to love it... It's probably in my top 3 non-collaborative albums (Field Songs and Scraps At Midnight being the other two). It just really really works... I keep finding the songs in my head even when I haven't been listening to them. There's only actually one song which lets the album down for me, and that's Deep Black Vanishing Train. I just much prefer Mirrored. Anyway, If there's a better album released this year I'll cut my left foot off and feed it to a homeless guy in a burger whilst singing Bleeding Muddy Water to him. Your thoughts?

It's a graphic used by the band Einsturzende Neubauten on a bunch of their stuff: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Einst%C3%BCrzende_Neubauten You should check them out! All their albums are great. Depending on what you're into, Silence is Sexy and Halber Mensch are both great places to start (and very different). Cheers, and let me know what you think if you check them out.
