i go to this uni and it was jokes to see all these bands hanging out where i do every day. i got to see all the bands i wanted minus crime in stereo but made up for it by watching people smash holes in the ceiling during YD, Azriel and Blackhole who were sick. not a slamfail.

Slam Dunk have issued the following statement about Saturday's events: "Apologies to anybody who encountered access problems at the Slam Dunk South event in Hatfield. An internal investigation is underway and there'll be a more comprehensive statement once we've concluded that. In the meantime our immediate focus is concentrating on the North leg of the event today, and making sure it's a success."

Pretty simple really - 6000 tickets sold, main room capacity was 2200. With well over 50% of the audience there to see NFG/FYS they had to limit people into and out of the main room, but to avoid the upstairs area becoming over-crowded they had to limit people from going upstairs as well. The big lock-down came during SYG when people were being held back and some wanker decided to take a punch at a bouncer. They had to clear a path to throw him out so they shut/blocked all the doors. Once he was out they just kept control by limiting the numbers. I think the security did a pretty good job considering the shit situation that was going on, if they'd let people carry on into the main room then people would've got seriously hurt. I heard that at least two girls had to get taken out of the crowd from the main room

how the fuck did Alkaine Trio "sell out"? Half the set was from Here To and probably the best set I've heard them play. If you only went to see two bands you can't say the rest is shit because you didn't even want to see them!!

shit festival, horrible atmosphere, full of wankers looking down their nose at everyone else. alkaline trio were brilliant as they have been on the whole tour so far, despite what some of you guys are saying. not sure what amyy trash is on about, capdown are more ska punk than anything, and alkaline trio were never pop punk and never tried to be. they were the only bands I went to the festival for, every other band there are awful. I would say it was a waste of money but in all fairness I think £25 to see against me and alkaline trio is pretty fair.

You can't get a refund because on the ticket it actually says you may not be able to get in to some arenas :L

Slam Dunk Music is releasing a statement after they've investigated what happened. So royally pissed off by it all, travelled down from Hull and I missed FYS, Skindred and most of New Found Glory. Absolutely gutted =/

I got to see the 3 bands i went to see (SYG, FYS and NFG) but i had to miss we are the ocene so i could see FYS who were amazing. Merch wasnt all to expensive imo but food and drink was way over priced 3.50 for a burger ugh not good. sonic boom six were amazing too saw them withe rbf earlier this year and wasnt all to impressed but they really bought it yesterday.

to be honest it was a bit obvious most people would have wanted to see New Found Glory, the Rocket Summer and Capdown, seeing as Slam Dunk is basically a pop punk festival. Alkaline Trio however, have kinda just sold out over the years, and were never really pop punk in the first place

@SkylitGretel 6000 was probably capacity for the whole site, but it was for the main stage it was more like 2000 at most. They probably didn't count on 4000 people all wanting to see Capdown and NFG

I managed to see everything i wanted, and get where i wanted to be without queuing. I guess it depended on where you were at what times. To be honest, yes, the organisation was terrible, but they've never done a Slam Dunk there so probably didn't know what to expect. They probably should have had security people at each venue door counting people in and emptying the rooms before the next band came on though. Towards the end of the night the sound got sorted out. I was also pretty happy about things running late, as i got to see Alkaline Trio (which were shit), and the full set of Capdown which were fucking insane. I love how people were smoking spliffs at the vans stage, fucking mental. The best bands with the best stage presence had to be Me vs Hero, Sonic Boom Six, Four Year Strong, Young Guns and CAPDOWN. Capdown won me over tbh.

@jasiekjp I pretty much only got my ticket for Alkaline Trio and Against Me, but went to see Your Demise because I went to primary school with the guitarist and had never actually heard any of the bands he's been in. They were ok, but the singer was a bit obsessed with people coming closer to the front.

I had an awesome night and saw every band i wanted to see... azriel, moneen, random hand, the wonder years, crime in stereo, set your goals, four year strong, against me, alkaline trio. I can see why people are pissed that they couldnt get in but at the end of the day isnt it better that some people had to miss out on seeing a band than people got hurt. So many druged up douchebags there though it was unbelievable. Crime in stereo was the best set and best crowd of the whole day for me.

the security told me to try and get a refund too, but I have no idea where to complain to? pretty gutted that 2 hours of my day was spent in a queue outside.
