Frank Turner first came to prominence as the frontman of post-hardcore band Million Dead, but went solo after their split in 2005, striking out on his own in a new, acoustic folk-influenced direction. Since then, backed by his band The Sleeping Souls, he’s recorded six studio albums worth of his searingly honest and passionate brand of folk/punk, and toured relentlessly, securing a legion of devoted fans as a result.

“Events commenced, in traditional rock and roll style, with a count of ‘One, two, three, four!’ But in this case, the whole crowd roared out the numbers along with the band, then continued enthusiastically singing the rest of the opening song. In fact, they pretty much kept that up for the whole of the show” (The Telegraph). And so it goes at a Frank Turner gig, where loyals fans blast out his back catalogue of folk-punk anthems while dancing and generally having a great time. It is, says The Guardian, “a huge, communal experience”.
