Amusement Parks On Fire

We are ridiculously happy to announce the return of Amusement Parks On Fire in all of their sonic glory. PM Concerts has now hosted Michael’s frail, stripped-back acoustic set twice, but this is a long-overdue visit from the full band; the absolute masters of furious, beautiful and gigantically loud sonic wizardry.

Veterans of three albums (Amusement Parks On Fire, Out Of The Angeles and Road Eyes), APOF have variously been described as "sporadic, hedonistic, teenage genius", "a subconscious, sleeping study in nightmarish beauty", and "adventures in sound that merely wipe the floor with every seismic pretender who’s ever tried to work out the lyrics to ‘Soon’ and recreate every chord sequence found on ‘Isn’t Anything’".

Over three years have passed since the band’s last visit to Edinburgh where they rendered this promoter unable to hear properly for the next two days. Don’t miss this. You will float. Shoegaze alive!

Nightmare Air

Nightmare Air are a new sonic experience from members of Film School (Beggars Banquet Records) and Chicago shoegazers Airiel.

Guitarist / vocalist Dave Dupuis (Film School) and drummer Mikey Lovechilde (Airiel) teamed up in Los Angeles in 2010 and began working with long time friend and bass player Swaan Miller. Fronted equally by the mesmerizing vocals of Swaan, and the magnetizing vocal wails of Dave, the members of Nightmare Air have taken from the ashes of their years of touring, supporting heavyweights like My Bloody Valentine and Swervedriver, to do what their bands did best – propulsive alternative / psych/ shoegaze/ indie rock.

Nightmare Air have just finished their debut album, which should see release later this year. It has been mixed by Dave Schiffman (The Mars Volta, Nine Inch Nails) and mastered by Howie Weinberg (Nirvana, Muse, The White Stripes, Sonic Youth).

Convex Mancave

Following a textbook exhibition of fuzzy loudness when supporting Michael Feerick at his acoustic set in July, Edinburgh sonic manglers Convex Mancave will bring a fresh dose of dark, claustrophobic shoegazing barrage to Sneaky Pete's in September. Fluid Radio said of debut EP 'Atomic Blonde in E' - "Solar-flare volume surges and steady, electronic pulses leave us pawing at our ears, while a barge foghorn crowds out an otherwise beautiful six-minute reprise of quiet echoes."
