oh god it was just beautiful. I was so upset, just because I went by myself and all I wanted was to be able to share how wonderful it was with someone. really really lovely. he seems like such a nice guy too. sat around and talked to the audience with the house lights up. I'm glad you enjoyed your show as well. (did he play that beyonce cover at your show!? the crowd went NUTZ!)

I guess you'd make a better band mate then 90% of what's out there then! If you can (although I absolutely understand the money issue) I strongly suggest going to the Grizzly Bear show. And according to Ed, the smaller the venue the better. They have a great live sound for filling small spaces. I actually found their music more interesting than I did on record.

(continued...) Patrick Wolf this summer, and we had a brief conversation on the topic. Either Ed was mollifying me (which is totally possible) or he just genuinely hadn’t thought about it. I am guessing that’s how it works with most artists. You pick your venue for its atmosphere, not its audience limitations.

They tend to support a more all-ages fare, I guess because the drinking age is so much higher than in canada and therefore limits the audience size all the more. have you seen Xiu Xiu live? (I am guess the answer to that is 'yes'). His was probably one of my favorite concerts, especially considering that Sunset Rubdown was part of the double bill. Also, I hate you for going to see Okkervil River! I was kicked out of their show when i tried to go. No fake ID. It's a major problem in my musical life.
