Yeah I'm super excited for passion pit :D I'm trying to get more people to go so I'll see how it goes, but at least I already have my ticket! I've never seen them before, so I'm glad to hear they were awesome. Rooney was decent, they sounded good musically, but they didnt really connect with the audience so well...Especially considering that the next night the roots were PHENOMENAL! They really hyped up the crowd and everyone was getting into it, which was really cool. They did this soundclash thing with miniature tigers which was pretty sweet and really original.. I think it would have been worth the drive for you, most definitely :D But hey do you have a facebook? I took a bunch of pictures and posted them, if you want to see what went down. Here's the link to my page: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=31614204&id=1018203725#!/profile.php?id=1018203725

yeah I thought that was a wierd way to go with that song too... But at least it was somewhat entertaining :D It's all cool though, I just figured you were busy or something. But I'm going to see the band Rooney tomorrow night, then I'm going to see The roots/miniature tigers at this block party in scottsdale on saturday :D then in december, I'm organizing a road trip to see passion pit in San Diego... I'm so excited for it all! What about yourself?

oh that sucks that you didn't get to go :( well there's always next time I suppose... Yeah I guess if I'm crazy enough about the band, it shouldn't matter if I go alone. I just wish the venues were closer to my house... Like next door :D Being carless also makes the going alone a bit daunting heh but who knows, at least margot and the nuclear so so's isnt until next week so I have some time to mull things over :D

That's kinda why I wanted to go to of montreal, they're so wonderfully wierd all the time, I wanted to see how crazy things would get on the wierdest day of the year :D Well you'll have to tell me if you go, at least I can feel like I was ALMOST there... I havent been brave enough to go to a show alone yet... I guess its a chance to meet new people but I kind of like having a wingwoman/wingman there... It just makes the whole experience a bit sweeter :D Plus then you have someone to be like "Hey remember when we were at that show that one time?...[insert excited response from concert buddy]..It's so much more fun that way! :D

The less sweaty I can remain while dancing is always the best case scenario :D I had wanted to go to that Of Montreal show too, but none of my friends seemed that into it :( and I work until six, so there are alot of obsatcles standing between me and the live rendition of "Beware Our Nubile Miscreants" :D But I guess I wanted to either go to Best Coast or Margot and the Nuclear So So's, but time will tell if that actually happens :D It figures I'd finally have money, but no one would be up for the shows I wanted to go to haha

6th row is really good! You were practically next to sufjan, so that's quite an accomplishment. That must have been so sweet :D Yeah me and my sister got there early, so we were directly in the front, right in the middle of everything. it was pretty awesome, no doubt. it WAS at the clubhouse, which i think is starting to become one of my favorite venues. I love how close you can get to the stage, and how the chances of you talking to the artist is definitely higher than say at the marquee :D Yay for us and our great concerts! So what show is next for you?

Oh I'm glad that Sufjan did not dissapoint! :D I understand about the pictures though, during Ra Ra Riot I kind just put my camera away and just wanted to dance and fully enjoy the experience. They were EXCELLENT by the way, even the opening bands were decent. Definitely a good show! And I didn't sweat out my bangs this time, which was definitely a positive ;D So were you close to the stage?

I'm glad to hear you liked them :D I just hope their live performance is just as good tomorrow night! Yeah Sufjan is all around wonderfullness... But I think my favorite has to be "For the widows in paradise, For the fatherless in ypsilanti" off the Michigan album. Ahhh that song gets to me every time... haha I hope your camera works this time! ;D

Well definitely give them a chance! Considering our musical tastes are ridiculously similar, I have no doubt you would like them. Here's the link to one of my favorite songs by them: (http://s0.ilike.com/play#Ra+Ra+Riot:Suspended+In+Gaffa:56829595:s38887979.10530104.18364399.0.2.131%2Cstd_ddd96f5fa35f4975874ce52f1364cbab) It's a cover from someone else, but I really like their version! But Sufjan! How exciting! Some friends are going to that show, and it was such a hard choice for me to choose between them... What's your favorite Sufjan song?

I know, my bangs were completely plastered to my forehead. I believe the words "hot mess" would have been appropriate... That's crazy that it was sold out! I wouldnt have thought that many people would like them, so that's pretty cool. Did you take any cool pictures?

I thought it was going to be good! :D Yeah I think that was definitely why I had such a good time at matt and kim, all of those endorphins from the intense dancing... Were there as many people as at matt and kim?

Girl Talk is only $22 with student ID. I don't know anyone going to Of Montreal...and it's gonna be fun, it's happening on halloween! I'm still trying to get passes to Matt & Kim. I may just pay for it day of, i think it'll be fun. It's also in the midst of a really intense concert week so i'll play it by ear.

I have Contra on full rotation, trust me, it hasn't been thrown out :) But yeah, I do think "Cousins" is definitely a crowd favorite, but hey, it's not like I can blame them! Yeah, definitely...Lady Gaga would be insane. She has such a crazy stage presence.

I couldn't help but laugh that you said "Hot Fuzz". I type that all the time haha. Yeah, Hot Fuss is definitely my favorite. I also really like Sawdust, even if I'm one of the only people who will say it! I dig their cover of "Shadowplay". I wasn't crazy about Sam's Town at first. It's a solid CD, but I REALLY got into it after I saw them live. Yessss Vampire Weekend. Speaking of having mixed feelings about an album, what about Contra? I'm still not sure how I feel about it. I really like some of the songs, and other days stuff like "Horchata" just annoys me...but I LOVE "Cousins". Once again, I think hearing those songs live really helped. For instance, I wasn't crazy about "Giving up the Gun" 'til now. No, I agree about Lolla. The only band I'd REALLY want to see is The Arcade Fire, who really needs to go on a US tour already! Not gonna lie, I'm curious about Lady Gaga too.

haha yeah I feel like I go through periods of having a temporary favorite band. The Killers were definitely on top of that list for awhile. I think I'm coming out of a Saves the Day cycle. Not sure what the next one's gonna be...right now it's looking like Passion Pit or Yeasayer. Have you ever been to Bonnaroo? Tennessee just seems like such a random place for a festival haha

The pay isn't that great, but I'm writing about what I love. I'd love to be some sort of critic, whether I'm reviewing music or film, so it's definitely a way for me to get my foot in the door! I can't help but think Goldenvoice did a poor job planning out Coachella, since a lot of these conflicts involve similar bands, ie The XX/Dirty Projectors/Hot Chip. Yeah, I say go for what you feel when you're there! I'm sure you're already on the road since it's Friday morning, but have a blast! I read someone's blog and it had pretty good advice. "Ten years from now, would you rather look back and say you saw Willie Nelson or some low-fi indie band that didn't go anywhere?" There aren't really any headliners like that this year, but it's food for thought. You're also so lucky to see She & Him live! I wish they'd go on tour. At least it doesn't sound like any of those bands will have volcano problems. (You heard about that, right?)

ahhh that's right. In spite of that, I'd probably go see Passion Pit :x I've never seen them and have been listening to them a lot lately. I actually wrote an article about what I saw to be the biggest potential conflicts. http://www.examiner.com/x-40227-Phoenix-Indie-Music-Examiner~y2010m4d13-Coachella-set-times I think Gorillaz/Yann Tiersen also really sucks :(

Vampire Weekend is one of the few bands I must say is better in concert than they are on CD (and I love the some self-titled and Contra's growing on me). I think I'll start saving up some money for Coachella next year...I'm sure there will be another great line up! *crosses fingers for Arcade Fire, Interpol, My Bloody Valentine, etc* Have a GREAT time. Make sure you watch Muse too. I saw them at US Airways and can say without hesitation that it was one of the 5 best shows I have ever seen. Ahhh and you have an opportunity to see the Specials /jealous.

lol i know, right? i just wanted to go one night (Sat.). and i couldn't really afford the 3-day ticket (on top of the other local concerts I already bought tix for). I'm opting for any Coachella acts that decide to include an LA show, or a free Kimmel taping (I've already caught a couple this way). are you driving up tomorrow (and who are you anxious to see)?

Adrielle (my girlfriend) and I will be there! What time were you guys thinking of going? VW is one our favorite bands, so we're planning on getting there pretty early. But if you guys don't want to that's totally fine; the light-rail takes us right there.
