I mentioned this before, but I don't think I ever got around to explaining the problem with last.fm They don't take into account length of songs. See, when you're listening to 10 minute songs, it only gets counted as one songs. So I listen to three ten minute songs in half an hour, means it only registers me listening to one song. On the other hand, if I listen to half an hour worth of poppy stuff, it's about 10 songs. This means that the recommendations get twisted, because while I obviously enjoy listening to the crazy post-rock (or as itunes calls it apparently: post modern art music) my recommendations don't reflect this at all - only 3 out of 13 songs will be of the same genre, even though I listen to it as often as the other 10. This is also why you can keep up with me on song plays.
