How's it goin'? We were both listening to the new Dalek, and I noticed our avatars were a little similar (eye/camera), so thought I'd check your page. We started our Last FM accounts 4 days apart!! Checked your top 100 artists, pretty much like em all. Haven't been bothered with the community aspect, since the change, feel they destroyed it a bit. You likin' the Dalek?

Palmless Prayer / Mass Murder Refrain (Mono & World's End Girlfriend), A Society In Which No Tear Is Shed Is Inconcievably Mediocre (Yoñlu), The Secret Eye Of L.A.Y.L.A.H. (Zero Kama). /////////// All these albums have a dark feel, be it in their texture (atmospheric), their instrumentation, or their concept. They are all REALLY GOOD, but you may not like some, or they may not be what you are looking for. Check the genres first anyhow.

Hello Tibberclaw, You left a shout about Ethers Edge a while ago. I thought I would drop by and let you know that their debut album is available to order now from http://www.ethersedge.co.uk and it is being shipped worldwide. Hopefully you'll stop by again and have a listen to the music influenced by the likes of PT/Steve Wilson. Cheers, Bazza

hi Tibberclaw! happy to hear that you are a Monolake fan too, really hope I can see him live one day. Thanks alot for the recommendation, I will get on some Plastikman :) i just searched Closer on discogs, and people are saying it is dark and minimal so I think I will like! 2003 too :) i didn't realise his releases were so long ago. yeah i was thinking about what i could recommend you in return... and right now I am listening to "Huone" by Vladislav Delay which really hits the mark. It is like Monolake at his deep, dubby, minimal best, and really anything released on the Chain Reaction label will be of interest ( as it was founded by Monolake ). Cern was the first ever track I played on the radio in 2009, pretty awesome! it played... i let it fade... and then my voice :P gave me the chills! hahaha

akufen and the field are very easy to get into if you're not all that into minimal. they both use sampling very heavily. while akufen uses a ton of samples, the field exploits the hell out of one small sample.

I listened to the Incident (the song) today and I didn't find the chorus obnoxious, so I guess I finally like it haha.

Nice to hear that you liked Red Number Two! I think the post-rock influences came from Sigur Ros, Mogwai, and maybe Isis? It's hard to say. I never thought to sound "post-rock". Feel free to join our Facebook-group: http://www.facebook.com/pages/RedNumberTwo/10484826883?ref=ts

Absolutely, I should listen more Porcupine Tree. A phantastic band and I will see them end of November here in Munich. But damn, I only have two PT CDs; don't ask why?! And, hey, look at my friend bizans, he's a such crazy guy, listening 10,000 times to one (yes one!) Vangelis song. What do you think of that ? .....

Thanks... Looking at the comment from the guy below I saw them in San Francisco. I thought it was an okay concert. As you can tell from what I said in the PT box, I think the new album is mediocre, so the first half of the concert was not too exciting for me. The second half was pretty damn good though, even if they did cut Anesthetize in half. Overall, the concert was decent, but it paled in comparison to when I saw PT for the first time in LA at the House of Blues... Tony Levin opened and was phenomenal, then PT came on stage and played oldies and introduced songs from FOBP. Best concert of my life!

Yeah I was big into grunge during high school. Now, 4ish years later, not quite as much. Compare my 12 month chart vs. my overall chart and the difference is pretty clear. I guess I just grew out of it while simultaneously progressing to many different branches of music. I just saw PT in LA over the weekend - AMAZING show :)
