Coincidentally, I think the score that set off my interest towards film scores in general is The Peacemaker. I had no idea who this Zimmer fellow was, until I watched the movie and thought: "damn, good music". 'Twas the time when CDs were still expensive and I still bought cassette tapes (it wasn't that long time ago, but I lived in a pretty backward world). I still have The Perfect Storm and Pearl Harbor albums in tapes, though I'm not sure whether I could locate them should I return home now. :)

Agreed. The Dark Knight was the best score I'd heard for some time. The same cannot be said for its special edition though. CD 2 is just bland and not as bombastic as the original one. Still, better than Madagascar 2. I also liked his collab with John Powell in Kungfu Panda (can hear Powell's influence heavily there). Angels and Demons... hmmm... hopefully the movie won't suck as (as much as) Da Vinci Code did... but I'm sure HZ will come up with something excellent. And I really hope he and JNH get Oscar next month as well.

Most of the music in my library are also Soundtracks (score's) too :) And about the last.fm beta, I didn't know about that. I don't remember receiving an email from them. I'll check it out. Thanks! ;) And thanks for the advice on shoutbox :) I'll write my reply here. Oh, and I forgot. I do listen to music while surfing the internet and stuff. But not always. And I use my iPod instead of iTunes even if I'm in front of my computer :p I just use iTunes to sort music and to put them in to my iPod, thats all. I don't use it much for playing music. as for the last shout... :) for historical purpose shouting in one's shoutbox sure makes it easier to read rather than shouting back and forth in each other's 'boxes. both methods are fine by me, only sometimes i tend to forget to check back to see replies.

Nope, am talking about the new upcoming revamped last.fm site. they didn't send out an invite to you to test the new site? try accessing your profile via beta.last.fm to see if you're in. there are some new features, and though my first impression tells me it looks like facebook a lot, i can't help but growing to like it. btw, you don't listen to music much when sitting in front of computer, do you? :)

I just put the movie title on the folder name and album tag, that's it. Soundtracks account to more than half my library collection anyway, so it's easier to search and sort by album name without the redundant OSTs thingy.

One more thing. If i receive a message from someone, should I reply to them here? Or should I post a reply on the their page. I was just wandering which is best :)

Its really interesting about how each people organize there music library. Each person has his/her own way. I do too. One of the things I do is, I always enter "Original Motion Picture Score", "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" or "Music from the...." etc. :p

Yeah, that kind of movies usually has a mix soundtrack that contains songs and scores which kinda annoys me, because I don't know how to organize them in my files! (I separate between OSTs and scores, and alphabetize my scores collection---this shows you how anal I am =D). Wonder why not make a compilation soundtrack and a score soundtrack, so that even the fans would know what to expect. Like the recent "P.S. I Love You", for example. Not really a great movie, alas.

Thanks for the "friend request" :) I never used this feature before. I didn't even notice it was there :p BTW. I also like Lake House too :) The score of course, and also Paul McCartney's song. Also, I notice there are alot of missing songs which were in the movie, and not in the official soundtrack. So I gathered the songs I could find that weren't in the soundtrack and made an unofficial soundtrack :)

my personal fave of Rachel Portman is perhaps The Lake House. I really like the piano thing there. Cider House Rules is undoubtedly one of her best; also one where you can hear the main theme in almost every track in the album. btw, we should be friends already! :)

Oh, ok. I listen to "Prince of Egypt" alot too, so that may be why "Price of Egypt" popped up in my head when I heard the title "Cry". Sorry :) I'll definitely take a listen to the "Holiday" soundtrack :D Thanks for the reply!

That track "Cry" is actually from The Holiday. Zimmer's action score that I love the most is Crimson Tide, but I do have a soft spot for The Peacemaker because it was one of the earliest--if not the first--scores that introduced me to the realm of film music.

I've installed it yesterday, and tried to send the tracks I've listened to over the past month. But it didn't work. I guess this sends tracks which were played after the installation date of iScrobbler. So I listened to some tracks today and did the iPod Update and its working nicely! :) Thanks for sharing info about this software :D

the plugins & extras section of this site will do, and yep, it works on Mac too :)

You know you can use the iScrobbler client to sync iPod and last.fm? But I don't have an iPod, so am not sure how it works though. :)

Thanks for posting :) I have a reason for that. I've been using iTunes+LastFM on my Mac at that time. But after a few months I bought my first iPod and have been listening music on my iPod, even if I was at home :p Thats why I haven't scrobble that much. But I'll try to scrobble more often. I appreciate your post, thanks :)

Thanks for your post, and sorry for my late reply. I haven't been checking here lately. I've just joined your group :) I like war movies, and the scores for them. But.... I think you'll be a little disappointed but I havent seen Full Metal Jacket yet :( I'm planning on watching it though :)
