I'm sorry to hear about the Russian invasion problems that have caused your family troubles. I hope they are safe and away from the area! My wife and I are great. We have a new dog now, a dachshund, and he's a fun little guy. :) I am finishing my third year of University and am looking to work on my doctorate in chemical oceanography once I am done. There are some good ones for sure (A Field in England is a very recent one that springs to mind - have you seen it?) but it seems silly to ignore the wealth of good and often superior stuff out there in other languages still.

Why non-English language movies? It's because so many interesting, non-formulaic, well-written films are made outside of English-speaking territories. Outside of the tent-pole, huge-budget, reliant on special effects stuff, pretty much every genre is done better these days outside of Hollywood. For example, the French can make romantic dramas or comedies that don't make you want to puke your stomach inside out, the Russians always bring it with the war films, and so on and so forth.

прикладна математика :) просто музика надихає щодня, без неї і жити, і вчитись нереально)) а жива музика на концертах - це ще вищий рівень задоволення, це не настільки життєво необхідно, але без цього важко =/.... соціальний ефект - то теж важливий, але не ключовий момент.. а чому "їх не можна відвідувати часто"? в тебе інше ставлення до відвідування концертів, типу "музики з навушників цілком достатньо"?О_о

якось так вдається.. вчитись важко, але цікаво, а концерти додають натхнення та життєвої сили для навчання =) але в мене їх не так вже і багато, хотілось би частіше...)
