Sorry dudes this version of the song is embarrassing pish. It's as crap as the Manic Street Preachers' immeasurably shit 'Socialist Serenade' and has obviously dated nightmarishly and was always guff to begin with. If you're going to annihilate the government in song form, you need make it sound convincing for later generations to not cringe themselves inside out over. File alongside Michael Stipe's political songs on the past decade. Blurghghgh. The band clearly realised they were onto better things with the more universal lyric of 'Glory Days'. This song is like feasting on all the cast of 'Our Friends In The North's turds on a stick.

This is the absolute, ultimate bestest song by Pulp ever. It really says something about how rewarding Pulp are if their best song is a B-Side. A song of wonder, vigour and revenge against the Labour government after one year of power. It sounds so glorious. The intro, building up to the inevitable BOOM! Those horns! Those drums! Those chords! The lyrics! And then a key change! This is perfection.
